    Fix Framerate / Fps

    I'll update it everyday to be sure to remind you about that...
    That's now 1 week this issue is here so...
    Don't even asking for beta/launch performance, just something as good what it was in GU3...

    It has been improved.

    No it hasn't been improved. This game looks like dog **** and the developers cannot make it run properly, its honestly totally unacceptable for the game to look as ugly as it does and run this badly. My i7 @ 4.8 GHZ and 580 nearing 1GHZ core clock should be able to run this game flawlessly but it cannot as I am hitting 30 FPS in biolabs and techplants.
  5. Dog.

    Improved ?
    From GU4 unplayable state to GU5 state, yes.
    From GU3 smooth and playable state to GU5 state, no.

    Framerate / Fps problems are still here on GU5.
    GU3 and below , the game was playable with none of those problems.

    So unless you created your account the day they released GU4 , I can't see what has been improved...

    For my system it has improved a lot, especially now able to use PhysX with out crashing. I've had to tweak this and that to get better performance after each update, but that is expected for PC gaming. This last up date all I've done was enable PhysX as the game itself is running smoother for me.

    Main issues I see in these forums are;
    1. People expect an old PC or lap top to run everything
    2. Meet Min' req' and expect it to run fantastic
    3. They don't know how to tune their PC for better gaming performance
    4. Expect an AMD CPU to run as good as an Intel CPU with this game
    5. Don't know how to do basic things like up dating drivers correctly, adjusting settings in their AMD/Nvidia Control Panel and use Google to look up how to do things.
    6. Don't post up system spec's, in game settings and what they have treid
  7. Lavans

    I'm glad you're speaking for yourself. My performance has been rock solid as of late, barely dipping below 40fps in biolabs and large zergs.

    "My system improved alot" (or so i think...)
    1. People expect the game to run on two of the only two prossesor companies(what game has EVER been playable on both?! (lol acctually ALL game have ALWAYS been playable on both....))
    2.People think they can get away with building a computer that has anything but a specific3-4 nvidia model cards.
    oh, and my favorite 3. People like the guy above thinks it runs good on their sysytem even though the GIGANTIC memory leaks effect him as well so after an hour its running horribly on his phsyics enabled pentium/ nvidia PC.
    4. maybe we shouldnt optimise it, that way we can keep the player base nice and small so we can just merge the game into one server to have something to shoot at.
    5.amd control panel? is not that futile because you and soe are telling us not to use amd, its Nvidia and pentium or go **** yourself, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

    I logged in just to let you know i chuckled. XD
  11. Bucketnate

    this game is not ugly, you sound mad because it can't run well lol
  12. TheOperation

    I can post pictures of my rig getting 90FPS + OUTSIDE however it doesn't detract from the fact that there is a SEVERE problem with the performance of this game ESPECIALLY when fighting indoors. ^^ This game is incredibly ugly compared to BF3 and other modern PC games which use Modern engines.

    You know it's sad that people like to be in the "PC master race" and yet have to seem to be absolutely clueless to fact that the myriad of hardware and software configurations gamers have for their computers causes everyone to experience different performance. I see people on this forum constantly complain that their framerate has gotten worse, while other people at the same time say their framerate improved. And here I am, having seen virtually no FPS increase since late beta with the exception of specific situations(vehicle turret FPS performance). And I'm not talking about always having exceptional FPS, I'm talking about having 20-30 FPS in large battles for seemingly an eternity on close to or above "recommended" system specs.

    Anyways you are a fool if you think they don't continue to try and increase the performance of the game, how many times do you people need the developers to remind you of this?

    I'll resume it the simple way and I'll skip the "I'm a professional pc gamer, here's my awesome computer, and I know how to tweak my computer to palliate the fail works of developper".

    I am nowhere close to the performance I had before GU4 , and I see no reason for a game to downgrade from good performance on GU3 to mediocre performance on GU4.
    The settings that used to works on GU3 should be working the same on GU4, GU5, GU6...etc and all the future game update.
    If it doesn't works, then it's SOE fault, I'm not loving them enough to call their fail mine...

    1. People expect a game that was running on GU3 to run the same on GU4+
    2. They simply expect it to run, they don't expect increase in performance on GU , but they don't expect decrease in performance either
    3. Why tuning a pc for GU4+ when the settings they used on GU3 were fine ?
    4. I'm sure AMD user don't give a *** about how INTEL user runs the game, they just want their game to run smooth and playable like pre GU4
    5. If only "basic things" were solving this GU4+ problems...
    6. As you said "what they have tried" < that's not really the customers job to try things to match the fail works of developers... Again if everything was fine pre GU4 I don't see why it should be on customer side to make it works after SOE suddently decided that something that used to works fine, should not works anymore.

    If everything is fine for you, then you are on the lucky few and I'm glad some people are still enjoying the game, but most of the people I play with agree on the fact that things were smoother pre GU4 and I'm one of those people.

    I tried all the things I came across on the forum, and still not close to pre GU4 performance.
    Is the game playable ? yes
    Smooth ? no
    Worth playing ? no

    And if people like to congratulate developers for "slowly" working on fixing the problems that they themselves implemented to the game, then I guess we don't have the same vision of good work.

    It's like catching a mechanic doing a puncture on your car, and congratulating him for repairing it over a period of 2 month.

    So taking screenshots of large battles at The Crown or tech plants is also irrelevant?

    We get it. You don't like PS2. So go take your virtual epeen and play BF3.
  16. TheOperation

    Where are they ? I do not see them. The only screenshot you took was at a road which faces the galaxy solar plant, hardly a "large battle". I find it quite idiotic for anyone to claim that the performance of this game and the graphics of this game to be good or even ok. The shear amount of unfinished placeholder textures sprawled all over many many objects in this game is quite frankly unacceptable, as is the use of DX9 and not DX11.

    All I hear is "wah! epeen! wah! epeen!"

    Here is one inside of a BioLab, which is currently in a 3 way struggle. Are you happy now? Or would you like more screen shots to prove that your computer is only good for epeen?
  19. InsanityOnABun

    I always find it hilarious when the masses get their panties in a twist because game servers are down, or there's a major bug that isn't fixed the day after. On my own personal projects that average ~10k lines of code, debugging an issue can still take all day. Try debugging millions, or even billions, of lines, along with all the non-code resources that go into a complex game like this. Even with a small army, debugging a complex game like this is no small task. Demanding constant updates is silly too. Do you really think wasting the devs' time with constant, most likely highly technical updates that only those with programming experience would understand, would help the process? Just cool your jets and let SOE hunt down the issue.

    Planetside 2 Beauty;

    All screenshots taken with the textures forced to "ultra" via the userconfig file, every other setting maxed running at 1920x1200.

    Planetside 2 Frame Rate issues;

    The following screenshots were taken in abandoned bases further proving that PS2 has some serious performance issues.

    http://imageshack.us/a/img255/2340/planetside2201303231936.jpg -inside tower (45 FPS)
    http://imageshack.us/a/img69/7585/planetside2201303231935.jpg - inside same tower (41 FPS)
    http://imageshack.us/a/img21/2340/planetside2201303231936.jpg - outside same tower (62 FPS)

    You will notice that my computer is unable to achieve decent frame rates inside the same base in which it is able to achieve over 60 FPS when outside of the base. This problem is totally counter intuitive simply because indoor game sequences have far less render-able content than outdoor sequences.

    My rig;

    I7 2700K @ 4.8GHZ
    8GB 1866 DDR3
    GTX 580 @ 960 Core/2200 MEM
    Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD

    Clearly PS2 is a gorgeous game as indicated by my screen shots and clearly there aren't any underlying performance issues. Lavans your screen shots only prove my point, the one you just posted in a Bio Lab demonstrates your computer only being able to achieve 43 FPS with one enemy on your screen, again hardly what I would call a "large battle".
