    Greetings all,

First off I'd like to take a moment to welcome all of you to the brand new Player Studio Forums! We've created this forum as a place for people interested in Player Studio, and those already creating items for Player Studio, to interact and discuss their artistic efforts.

We have big plans for the future, including new functionality to give creators greater ability to interact with one another and discuss their submissions, and look forward to showing this off to you as soon as it's ready. For now, enjoy the new forums!

    Thanks,
    -Piestro

Woot! ok, only question I have,. is why is this form not linked to out same account with the rest of the SOE forums? LOL it made me do another screen name when I clicked on the link you gave. (silly hamsters must be having blonde moments!) ;)

We've given Player Studio Creators there very own forum, much the same way as you have separate accounts for EQ and the SOE forums. :) This also helps for the future functionality we plan to add in this forum. :)

Kool beans,.. both screen names are basically the same in any case.

Thanks Piestro, are you by chance an item reviewer when stuff gets submitted? I look forward to learning from the more educated 3D creators. I'm using Blender and G_imp mostly but a couple other programs as well. I'm still a newbie at this 3D art stuff, so I have a lot to learn and appreciate all the postive feedback I can get.

    See yas!

Hello everyone, pleased to be here and see the new forums. :)

It says "Community Relations" with Piestro's avatar. In other words, not part of the art team.

However, we still appreciate the warm welcome! :)

Thanks for the new forums! It's nice to see them up/running and on schedule too!

I, like Rawl, also use Blender.. Is there any chance we could have a sub forum for blender and G.I.M.P users? Even a stick-ied thread or two would probably work to start out with. It would be nice to have a place to share ideas and show those new to the program some basic settings and perhaps even tutorials.

I'm specifically involved with getting the forum support up and running. While I'd love to be able to contribute to the art process somehow, I have a very real lack of talent in this area. Something about fundamentally not grasping composition. :)

You should get a few quick lessons from the art department and make a few items Piestro. :)

Alas, Sony employees are not allowed to make items for Player Studio. It could have the appearance of a conflict of interest. So we have to suggest our item ideas to you guys. ;-)

    Suggest away...

Tell us what you'd like to see us create for you.

    Thanks.

I would like some weapons and shields please:)

Hello Covic, I'm not a weapons and shield creator, let me direct you to someone who can help you, one moment please.....HEY! ANY OF YOU GOOD AT MAKING WEAPONS AND SHIELDS?

I think someone will be able to assist you. :)

Howdy everyone. I'm looking to get involved, and I wanted to ask a question or two:
    - For the mesh constraints, when you say 1,200 polys for a household item, do you mean quads or tris?
    - I'm currently working with a student license of Maya 2011. This flags all my files with a notification stating as much. Should I just switch to Blender or some other free software?

That aside, I'm excited to be rejoining this community after almost a decade away from the game.

Tris are what they want when referring to a poly count.
