I replied to this thread because it seemed relevant to the issue I experienced with a recipe being deleted, but still used on a regular basis.
Because, despite the fact that pretty much every forum I've ever followed online has rules against necroposting, apparently nobody makes forum software with an "auto-lock any thread after X days" or "auto-lock any thread after X days without new replies" function. (I do know of one that gives you a "please think before replying here" popup when you click into an old thread, at least...) The easiest fix for bad behavior is to make sure it's not possible in the first place. You don't repeatedly scold a toddler for playing with the kitchen cutlery, you lock up the cutlery where they can't get to it.
Even the apprentice recipes don't all behave the same. The top tier ones auto-scribe, all the ones for lower tiers you get a recipe book that must be manually scribed.
