I wouldn't say I parse low. I parse considerably higher than any of our other swashies and usually only get beat by our top ranger. On a good fight where I don't die I can easily parse 2k+. Unfortunately I'm usually building a lot of hate so sometimes I get killed by adds or whatever. Some of those parses I did die I just don't quite remember. We're doing EH tonight, I'll try and get some more parses.

Oh yeah Cloak, I've done Harla Dar numerous times but we've never used 2 MT's for either the named or for clearing the trash. We just move quickly and chain pull. I'd post a parse but honestly haven't done much KoS content except for Deathtoll since we've been hammering EoF. I'm in our MT group 100% of the time except for a few rare exceptions as well.
Ok I knew I forgot something. From the EH zonewide my to hit % for everything was 90%. My to hit % for autoattack was 78.25. So I think I'm in decent shape there, but I could definitely use some more + offensive skill gear. Though I'm using slashing now if I get a shard I'll be piercing so it's hard to determine what to bid on.
Damn, looks like I need to work on my dps. I only average 1.2k ish, spike up to 2k depending on the encounter. I'm mostly KOS fabled geared, using Shadow Axe with maxed Str and Wis lines. Have Mith Marr cloak, DT amulet, Mark with 10% dps buff on it. Only some of my pre lvl 60 CA's are not @ M1. Generally we average around 15k raid dps, looks like I need to be doing 1.5k+ as the MT swashy. I should be getting my Kiji soon, is there another weapon I should be using? Anyone have some suggestions for me?
As for your weapon choice and AA lines, the Shadow Axe is really a terrible weapon to be using with a line that focuses on crits, due to it's poor 1:2 damage spread. a weapon like the bloodbeast axe or vilucidae's sword would benefit you alot more with the crit line. Though, if I had a Shadow Axe I'd respec to the agi line to better suit the weapon. Not sure if I'd use the Kilij either except for inspiration because the 1.6 delay is just too quick for my liking. Regarding melee skills, I will be excited when my shard finally drops mainly because it's so much easier to find scout gear with +piercing than +slashing. I can only think of about 2-3 decent +slashing items out there that I would even consider wearing. :x
Sure thing. Basically DPS IS going to be relative to what your raid is parsing, and DPS is Damage Per Second. The ACT parser puts up who's doin' the big numbers, and can be pasted into EQ's chat window, which is what you see (by the way, the results usually get culled to the top 5 or so of the raid due to character limits in eq's chat-bar). Arkarius post 2 or so down from yours is a great example, which I paste here for reference: Pardas Predd: Allies: (01:14) 1078136 | 14569.41 [Oloriin-Ice Nova-13883] Ragnerok 154199 | 2083.77 Arkarius 134360 | 1815.68 Sifo 121882 | 1647.05 Tional 101782 | 1375.43 Happy 78160 | 1056.22 Destany 76253 | 1030.45 He's pasted Predd's name up there (one of the named in labs) so we know which fight he's referring to. I think ACT does this automatically. Next line down shows "Allies: (mm:ss) ###### | ##### [HIGHEST HIT IN ENCOUNTER] The FIRST set of #### is total DAMAGE done, by entire raid. The second ####'s is the ENTIRE raid's DPS (And yes, that means that each and every second of that fight, his raid was doing an average of 11.4K DPS to Predd. Not too shabby ..) Next line down shows Ragnerok, beating him slightly at 154,199 TOTAL damage done, and 2k DPS during that fight. Not bad not bad. Arkarius comes in a fairly close 2nd at 1.8K DPS, which is basically 12.5% of the TOTAL raids DPS, which comes right in that 12-15% guideline mentioned earlier. And, this repeats pretty much for the highest 5 or 6 players, usually. And, what was mentioned about DPS being reliant on how 'newb' your raiders are overall, how you are configured, how well you play together (and play your own class), etc etc. If you're NOT doing that 12-15% or so of total raid's DPS (on average, there's always exceptions on a fight-per-fight basis), it may not necessarily be your fault. Part of developing strategy for raids relies on communication with your other team-members, and even out-of-guild raiders to develop new methods for maximizing your DPS without pulling aggro. If you want to experiment solo, see what works best, etc, you DEFINITELY need to get ACT parser installed and set up your own channel to parse in (so you're not spamming your guild constantly ) Now, PvP is a different story. I'm mainly PvE but have done PvP in other games, and the main theme is always to know your class (well duh) and focus on survivability in a variety of situations. PvP'ers actually have way more situational-dependent type things to worry about, and unless you are strict raiders IN a pvp environment, possibly a focus on DPS is not the solution. So before this gets derailed anymore, there's your brief on DPS and how it relates to YOU. And, to the OP topic, you actually aren't doing that bad considering your equipment. Consider some upgrades though. The 2 rare (mastercraft) rings help (one procs +DPS, the other procs +haste). You definitely need a good cloak, although choice is really up to you. I'm sticking with Marr deity cloak until I can get unrest cloak. I don't feel like going exile. The god cloak is a worthwhile start unless you're lucky in unrest. MoA is tedious, but worth-while. I can't think of a better neck off-hand, that is really quite easy to get when ya think about it. I personally parse 1.5-2k, this usually in open raids. That's with Inspiration/en-guarde, the works (so, those are high parses). Average is usually closer to 1k-1.2k, if those boosts aren't up. I'm an open-raider mostly, quite alot of fabled, and eof legendary set (mccabe's vest is SO much teh sexxies). I've rambled long enough. G'day.

I'm Agi/Wis specced with mainly Legendary items, the DPS should get a boost when I do DT on friday and finish my Claymore. Kilij is perfect for Agi/Wis, expecially with Templar, Dirge and Warden boosting proc chances.[/p]

Well Chel'drak hasn't dropped a shard yet for us but I had a great night in MMIS the other night. Came out with Ancient Girdle of Battle from the gargoyle, and after tanking Tactician's Armor I ended up with 2 set pieces. Gloves and shoulders. Quite nice being the only swash on the raid. Only problem now is I need to find a haste item since I was using the PvP shoulders.
PvP merchant belt is no good since my belt is rather nice. Have to wait until the guild wants to raid the KoS crap until I can get the DT access for my wrist. There's a cloak in MMIS with 2% crit and 25% haste also, currently wearing the Marr cloak. I lose the 4 DPS mod with the 3 set bonus with them on after losing the gloves anyways so it's best I wear the ringleader shoulders until I get my chest piece. Feels weird putting PvP gear in my bags.
This is a very interesting read, I am one of those whimpy swashies wanting to do more DPS. For some reason most fights i only parse between 900-1200 DPS and I can't seem to stay consistent... I am wearing almost full relic, have some fabled jewelry, using Mod sword from unrest, and AA im specced for Str/Wis in Kos and Style/Debuff for EOF I dunno what im doing wrong, though I've heard mention of group setups in raids...the other night I was grouped with a monk,warden, and ranger...don't think that is ideal for DPS but I could be wrong Can someone also explain the crit chance, I thought faster weapons could get crits of more...
mmm getting beat by a class with x10 times the utility, less demand on being in a position, less demand on being in stealth, that can solo better and pvp better then you. shame shame
[p]I am using Ancient Vorpal Blade from HoS. I NEVER parse below 2000 under any circumstances. I don't know what some of you swashies are doing if you parse a "high" around 2k. That's sad.. Even when I die twice in a fight I'll still have over 2k dps. My high is 5.3k but that was on AE encounters in Lyceum so that doesn't count as much. On named it's always 2.8k to 3.3k dps. Agi/Wis is the specc for now[/p]

I started the thread because this was just the sort of unhelpful crap i was getting from our MT. [/p][p]Also, as I've mentioned before, not everyone has been raiding since day one - people need to learn. Some of us aren't too proud to admit their faults and ask for advice. But I guess you've been parsing 5.3k since Firemyst Gully?[/p]
