Lets get quests, knowledge, items...heck anything that helps a Zerk be a better Zerk or more knowledgeable about the class here..... Let's make this a good tool everyone can have input into as well as a good tool for newby Zerks like ourselves to use.

I will update this as people reply with information we should add to this. Help out by posting Answers to Questions you had in-game, but could not find a clear answer to on the boards. When you solve a quest and get a nice Berserker Item....post it! When you encounter something you do not like about a skill or something you feel is a bug and should be looked into...post it!

• Qeynos - At level 19 you can get the Berserk class quest from Delacar in north Qeynos.
• Freeport - At level 19 you can get the Berserk class quest from Captain Monarvia inside Freeport Militia house. The reward is some XP and Jagged Edge Axe of the Berserker, a 2h Axe.

Heroic Opportunity
Solo HO's - There are (3) seperate HO's you can complete when soloing. The damage the HOs do (and the amount of AC Hero's Armor gives) depends on the encounter's level relative to yours. They are MORE effective against encounters that are high level relative to you and LESS effective against mobs that are low level relative to you.

• Sky Cleave - Direct Damage effect. Unknown secondary effect
• Crushing Anvil - AoE Direct Damage effect. Unknown secondary effect
• Hero's Armor - Rare HO. This added 300 AC and was effective for 2 min and 30 secs @ lvl 19

Berserker Tactics & Tips

• When you need to be main tank, do your group a favor and use a shield + 1-handed weapon. Do not use any skills that reduce your Defense, instead only use the skills that increase Defense and you will be as good a tank as a Guardian.
• If you are not playing main tank, you can ensure things go smooth and the main tank holds agro by not buffing in combat (increases mob hate) or taunting the mobs (taunt HO's).
• If not main tanking, always have your Intervene skill ready to put on someone who many need, possibly even the main tank in a difficult fight.
• If you are main tanking, make sure to not only taunt but use your short duration buffs in combat to not only help boost defensive skills, but to help pull/hold agro on yourself.
• Assist the Main Tank. It helps to make a macro /assist Just change the name in that macro to match the name of the person you need to assist.
• Throw up your stand firm now and then.
• Do not pull long pulls with your reactive buffs, such as Fury on. these can make it difficult to pull and can get disoriented or killed.

Skill Levels

1. Apprentice I = level-1 - Granted automatically, except for the "fun" spells with purely cosmetic effects.
2. Apprentice II = level - Purchased from "Trainer" NPC's
3. Apprentice III = level+1 - Crafted from common harvests.
4. Apprentice IV = level+2 - Not yet in game.
5. Adept I = level+3 - Uncommon drop.
6. Adept II = level+4 - Not yet in game.
7. Adept III = level+5 - Crafted from rare harvests, recipes are in rare drop books.
8. Adept IV = level+6 - Not yet in game.
9. Master I = level+7 - Rare drop or character advancement choice.
10. Master II = level+8 - Not yet in game.
11. Master III = level+9 - Crafted from very rare drops, recipes are in rare dropped books.
12. Master IV = level+10 - Ultra-rare drop or awarded by GM.

Berserker Bugs – Annoyances – Broken Skills

• Berserk Skill seems to be not working as intended. No penalty to Defense or gains to offense when in berserk mode App1. Only visible affect is haste.
• Bloodlust seems to create more agro than intended. Can not seem to use this skill matter how good the tank is, Berseker will get agro immediatly, at least in the 20's.
• Bloodlust Skill appears to "proc" incorrectly Appears to trigger when hitting mob or being attacked...and triggers every time.
• Weapon Shield buff requires 3 concentration AND is on a 2 min 30 second timer. This seems bugged. Timer runs out while in use....but then when the spell expires on you the skill reset timer kicks in.
• Skill Timers/Reset Timers are buggy

Game Changes and Patch Notes that Affect the Berserker
Update Notes: December 8th, 2004

• - Warrior/Berserker/Guardian Mangle line: These arts now share a common timer, and the amount and duration of the debuffs associated with the arts have been adjusted.

Update Notes: November 16, 2004

• - Suspensions and solutions can now be purchased from the appropriate merchants. This allows combat art upgrades for fighters to be crafted properly.

Update Notes: November 17, 2004

• - Delecar's Axe of Savagery should now appear correctly.
• - The dual wield skill is now visible in the skills window for those who have the ability to dual-wield weapons.
• - Dual-wield weapons will now display both primary and secondary as valid slots
• - Decreased the cost of light, medium, and heavy armor types.
• - Decreased the cost of shields.

Update Changes: November 25, 2004

• - Blood Rage skill damage reduction. was reduced by over 60%

Update Changes: December 3, 2004

• Taunt abilities have been made more effective
• Combat arts now have the same probability to hit difficult encounters as spells.
• A maximum limit has been placed on the effectiveness of skill buffs and debuffs.
• Both NPCs and players now do more damage at level 20 and above. Damage and healing spells have been increased in potency accordingly.
• NPC and PC hit points at level 20 and higher have been increased.

Update to the App3 question. As of last patch, Fighter App3 scrolls are now in game and all over the place because the missing component was added. They're pretty high priced at the moment but will fall in due time.

The Anvil HO is Area Effect.

Although its not Berzerker only, I would add a bold around the AOE HO..I have seen more then one group get in trouble because of this.

Freeport App2 Trainers are in North Freeport near Thieves Way and Kanos. The Trainers are overlooking the harbor. Also if you can't find them just find a guard and right click and do a Find NPC. Type in Trainer and it will WP them.

And also the only weapons we can not use are Monk ones like the Cesti's and Fist Wraps.

The name of the rare HO is Hero's Armor. Also, note the damage the HOs do (and the amount of AC Hero's Armor gives) depends on the encounter's level relative to yours. Also you left out Apprentice 2 (vendor bought) in the list of ability upgrades.

From what I can see, you are not missing a round of combat. It seems that you still hit on that round, but there is no swing animation as the berserk animation overrides it.

Ah, now it all makes sense...

I'm only lvl 10, and whooped for joy when I started cracking off some 62+ damage solo HOs in an encounter I was somewhat overmatched by, only to be disappointed as they cut by more than 2/3rds in damage vs green/blues.

yeah, I thought so as well but Im still not convinced I don't lose an attack...If we don't thats cool..but that animation is still very annoying IMO. I don't think that aimation should be there at all..some sort of flames emitting from you are a howl but man stopping attack animation and going into the HO animation every single time we go in zerk definetly interrupts the immersion in combat IMO..might jsut be me and if it is Ill pull it outta there.

Now I am not much for parsing, so hopefully someone out there can turn this into something useful to let us know whats better, DW or 2H.
