Still no Xfer to Phinny from RF?

Got my ranger on ragefire i havent even logged in since Kunark. would be nice to have that char back so i dont have to redo epics and all that. seeing as how i left ragefire because of uncontrolled TL mage army abuse, that seemed to be encouraged by the mods >.>

No you cannot transfer a character to Phinny server.

If Vegas had odds on if characters will be allowed to transfer characters to Phinny server within the next twelve months, I would go all in on the choice of "No".

that sux. that's a lot of time lost. Especially since phinny was made because of the reason i quit playing RF.

Even if they allowed this someday (which they won't) it would have to be stripped chars without platinum. The economies of the two servers are just way too out of balance. Allowing full transfers when Krono are worth seven times as much on Ragefire, the arbitrage would be ridiculous and would wind up flooding Phinny with platinum.

Wildly different xp rates and economies make this a non-starter. If you could xfer to Phinny, there would be little incentive to level on Phinny at all.

You'll probably be able to transfer for ranger in 4-5 years so you'll be able to get all that work back!

i dont want to see transfers to phinny available anytime soon.

phinny is one of, if not the only, server in the entirety of EQ to not have a plat dupe/exploit on it at some point that artificially brought in huge amounts of plat. id hate to see that ruined.

I wonder how much the economies really differ now. Word of mouth is inaccurate and tends toward bias on both sides. Once the bazaar is out it'l be easier to see what's what. Much of the price differential for krono might well be demand from boxers. It's also not *necessarily* bad to have more currency in circulation unless your income is fixed in that currency (i.e., by plat farming). We're also about to see a potential disruption to the plat-supply status quo once Luclin opens...

The price of Krono is not naturally set. Krono farmers who resell cheap krono on shady sites make a lot more money if krono are low in cost. They can buy more krono from players if the cost of krono is low, which means less farming for items and pp to buy krono for them. Which in turn mean more actual $ for them at the end of the day.

They set the price, they will /ooc and /auction fake cheap krono trades all day. People who think they are real trades adjust their price accordingly. If a newbee sees 3 (fake) trades of Krono for 4k, they will actually try to sell their krono for 4k, thinking that's the naturally set market price.

And since the largest offset market for krono, is the krono scammer market who resell kronos, they can buy at whatever price they want, they can keep lowering what they pay for a krono, since they control 90% of the market.

The krono scammer will buy the krono for 4k...if the krono has a natural price of 8k, the scammer would have halved their real life $, they don't want that so they make sure the price of krono is kept under control and remains as low as possible.

That's why krono are worth so little on Phinni. The market doesn't decide the price, krono scammers do it. In fact on phinni kronos used to be worth a lot more, the price of krono has gone down ever since (the opposite of what should happen in an expanding economy), because over time the krono scammers started to control the krono market and they make sure the krono remain artificially cheap.

The price of krono should go up as a server evolves, more and more money comes into the economy, on live servers krono are worth 1.5 million, on phinni krono went from 8k down to 5k, now down to 4.5k...that's not natural at all.

Price of krono is set by the market not be scammers. You can believe whatever conspiracy theory you like but it's just flat out wrong even if it is hilarious to read.

Plat had no value in classic/kunark, there really wasn't anything to use plat for. Then comes velious and you NEED tradeskills for the shawl, you need gems which aren't worth a full krono, there's just a huge necessity for plat and nobody was farming plat. They all had krono. So they all tried to dump their krono for platinum. The sudden need for plat with a pretty low supply of it naturally dropped the price of the krono (in platinum) to the price you see today...

Hoarding for horses + casino is another major deflationary pressure. With the faster timers on Phinny I imagine the pressure is more severe.

Don't be so gullible, the whole krono market on phinni is not at all controlled by anything that happens naturally in EQ.

Tons of sites sell krono below DBG price. The krono market is dictated by the people who buy them, the krono scammers who buy 90% of the kronos set the price.

And the cheaper those scammers get their hands on krono, the more $ they make, so they manipulate the market to keep the price of them low.

Krono were worth 10k-8k at launch, they dropped to 4k now. They are worth 1.5 million on live. If you think this is "natural" and caused by a "TS shawl item", you're an extremely gullible individual.

They are worth what people pay for them dude it's very simple to understand. There's no big conspiracy behind this. People sold plat before krono RMT has always existed.

That's not what happens at all, nor is this simple. The large majority of kronos are not sold as regular items, they are being sold to "Gold selling sites", who resell them for 9$-10$, undercutting DBG. You're trying to pretend they are regular items in EQ, they're not, the majority of krono end up in a market outside of EQ.

And yes those gold selling sites who depend on them manipulate the market. They own both krono and pp, they will stock krono when they are cheap, they will stock pp when they are expensive.

i just want the char even if it was with 0 plat transferred. I had a lot of time put into his skills and gear. i just want that even if id be broke AF
