Unfortunately, agro on our pets is inverse to their damage. Earth pets have garbage agro. Air pet is much better. Water pet (without agro weapons) is better than air pet with them. Fire pet in melee range does even more agro still (And of course is the wimpiest of them all).
Inverse means opposite. I think you meant unfortunately agro is directly related to their damage. I can't rip aggro off my BL pet, with EM23 focus, no mater what I do. I put every dot, chain nuked and meeled the mob with dps discs etc.. Mob never even looks at me. Pet cons yellow at 103 to me, pretty sure it was blue before. Just came back to EQ and was pleasantly surprised how good my pet tanks and holds aggro now. Haven't tried my mage pets yet, but EM 20 pet cons even with my 103 mage.
