You're not limited to 95 by silver, but by the expansions you have. You can buy the two newer expansions that don't come with f2p and get to 100 and still be silver.

tells not working, is you may have been marked as spammer, and sounds like some new accounts may be done that way automatically at start for a certain length of time. As bronze, you don't get access to chat channels other than the newbie one, it automatically joins you to, but you can send and receive tells, if not marked as spam. If boxing, uncheck spam filter in Options (Alt+O) - Filter tab and try sending tells to each other. If one is marked as spam it will show up as Soandso tells you, <SPAM> with the spam clickable to see the original message, and the character name right-clickable to mark or unmark as spam. Most people that run into this problem on new account, unmarking doesn't fix it, and require /petition or I've heard just waiting 3 days may fix it also. /petition may not work, as it is suppose to be reserved for gold accounts, but is the only legitimate way I've heard of getting it fixed, other than the newer waiting 3 days.

OK, I caved and got gold for now. I have a 10 Warrior on Vox, and hopefully it'll all work out!

Flippy is suppose to be Fippy and I blame a long old thread, where the OP kept typing it wrong even after being told many times, rather than blame it on my own curse of typoing. Nothing is my fault; I'm not responsible for anything!

And as a friend says, "You figure it out!"

Back on track, welcome and good luck on Vox or where ever else you may play.

I'm a new player too and I can say: Yes, still playable and very interesting.

I don't know many things but I'm sure that EQ is one of the games with most content. Try it. :)

I came back at the end of August and had not played seriously since 2004 and only a tad in 2008/09 on a progression server. So I started a few characters, each on a different server to try out classes (shaman, cleric, paladin, druid, BL and necro). I played into the 30's on all 6 characters/servers and I do not box.

I ended upon picking a standard established server (Bertox over EM with and CT) based upon activity and ability to grab a name I liked as all 3 were the same activity for me. I could have ended up on any of these three to be honest.

The other three were Fippy with a cleric which was dead when I went through and very little response. FV (druid) where I had my alt in the old days was active but no group activity or chatter at lower levels. Everyone seemed to be boxing at my levels or PLing. I was actually disappointed with this server as it use to be my favorite. Finally Vox with the BL was somewhere in between for me in terms of activity.

In the end I deleted all my characters including my shaman on Bertox and started my favorite class (druid) on Bertox and kept my name there. So far, it has been great as I slowly level up.

You need to find some friends that you can group with and then guild with some or all of them. Be willing to help out, not worry about drops and loot and everything works out. My long winded example is try a lot of servers and any class that interests you. Read the chatter, look at guild boards and then check them out online. The personalities and times they group will help you decide.

    Safe Travels...
