EQResource.com 4th Anniversary + Player Housing Contest!

I'd enter my castle on Test but it doesn't seem to be very popular and the foundation is done inside but I have lots of room to add stuff but haven't had the motivation to do so. I hate the yard and guild yard item limits. They stifle our creativity.

I think I'd like to see something like an alt guildhall contest or something. I know there's a lot of us that have one, just because we REALLY like decorating. I managed to take my Grand Guild Hall (the 1500 SC one) from 9 rooms to like 20 rooms. I'm not *quite* out of space yet, but I'm working on it. There's a LOT of room for creativity in an alt guild hall! Would be fun to poke around inside of the ones others have done. Mine is at:

and is open to the public if any of y'all want to poke around. All doors are Shabby Lobby Doors, so to leave, you can click on any door in the place. And you can walk right thru them, of course, when navigating. If there's a door, there's something behind it.

We've considered Guild Halls before, the hard part is trying to figure out who "owns" them, such as the Guild Leader, I suppose, then it would be up to them to award the prize how they see fit past that. But I don't know how much that would be liked or seen as fair tbh.

Eh, maybe not a 'contest' as such, but like a serverwide organized open house or something. Guilds that want to showcase (and alt guild hall owners) just 'sign up' like we do for the contests, then make sure that our guild halls are open to the public between day X and day Y, so others can tour them. Mine is always open, unless I'm doing some radical reconstruction that involves ripping out entire rooms and redesigning them. Sadly, that's happened more than once.

And while I am certainly cool with people wandering around on their own, I actually like giving guided tours, as well. That way I can answer questions about construction, items used, and get suggestions and recommendations from other designers.

How does one get a character on Test? Wouldn't be bad to get a character w/ which I could run around and check out properties there.

For test, you can just do /testcopy on your main, and get a ..... copy on test. That statement amuses me.

I guess I'm easily amused.

My house touring chars are on a FTP account. Can a FTP be /testcopy-ed?

Any character from any account can be test copied. Just make sure you force a save before you copy if you have added anything new to your character. Either trade currency, zone or log out and back in to force a save.

I should work on the interior of my guild hall but I've left it as is for awhile now. I don't bother much with houses because the limits are so small but I did a lot to the exterior of that guild hall.
