Can't create a character + login queue

same, got to char creation and just kept telling me recruit a friend bonus would not work...bla bla bla...
click ok then nothing.... I thought I maybe bugged so I closed it out, now it says I have a player on the server already

I keep getting the "unknown error" window when i try to log in.

its just lagging i left that friend bonus window up and a few mins it went to create, i clicked enter and its just now entering after 5 mins.

my first time back since 2001 what a let down!
