So the patch from July 20, 2022 is being reverted? *** Miscellaneous *** - The client will now always launch in windowed mode rather than fullscreen.
if that is the good news then i have some bad news or you. the 'patch' fixed nothing, for me at least. and it introduced another bug. when starting the game from launcher it now goes from full screen to windows mode at the server select screen where before it didn't. this is a minor annoyance since the next screen after that also goes into window mode and you've told us TFB you're catering to the 4k users now BUT there's a problem where it appears to resize to a slightly smaller screen then back up to full window screen (if that makes sense) where, again, it didn't before. i still have to switch to full screen at character select before playing. But hey! at least the lag i was experiencing is gone... for now.
Well, that makes sense because no changes for this issue have been patched to Test or Live. I shared some internal progress in response to player requests for a news update.
I made this post today in another forum and was pointed at this thread. Is this the same problem or something different?
From patch notes March 13: "Made several changes to improve client and zone performance." Would this be the fixes that are being progressed internally?
for me yes. and as an added bonus (so far) the patch has added a new 'feature' (again for me at least) with a 2/3 chance of the game crashing to desktop when pressing the alt+enter the second time. but i'm guessing these are still being 'processed internally'.

Yes. We've done a major rewrite of that code. We're doing internal testing and this topic is behaving correctly.
NO.. far from it.. It is NOT acting correctly. Pre patch, peeps could have two or more toons loaded up and each in Fullscreen. Hit the windows key to bring up the taskbar and select one of the other toon's tab and that toon come up IN FULL SCREEN..In fact, you could click on any of your loaded toons tabs and any of them would be in full screen. Switch seamlessly between them. Not what is happening now,,,, So NO its not fixed.
It hasn't gone live yet, they are still testing it before pushing it to test and then live. I really hope it works, I want to get back to my usual play pattern for the anniversary.
