Pet rename potions can change the name of your aura NPC, in at least some circumstances.... weirdly.

Since my Phantom Aggressor is a mini-me, I thought it would be amusing to name him Narcissism. Instead, I renamed my invisible aura. Now if I stay in a zone for longer than 75 minutes, the game kindly informs me when "Narcissism expires."
