If 2023 TLP is PvP TLE server

Yes, as someone who would love a PvP TLP, I haven't logged into Zek in many many years. Zek is the furthest thing you could possibly get to PvP's heyday. Do I think a TLP PvP server would be just as I remembered in it's heyday? Of course not, but they have an opportunity to recreate that experience as close as possible in today's game. I would definitely try any PvP TLP they release, but creating something that will be viable in the long run is what should be debated, not whether to try it at all or not. They've had plenty of "Failed" TLP's over the years, what's the harm in one of those being a PvP server? They release 2 every year, make one a PvP and one not for those who are so against it. If it fails, it fails. It wouldn't be the first time they had a failure of a TLP.

Not sure what you are going on but the fact remains that Zek is one of if not the most under populated servers in the game. The only reason it hasn't been merged into another server is there is nothing to merge it into and keep the ruleset.

It doesn't matter at all how popular you claim PvP was 20 years ago what matters is the popularity now.

It was on the front page of a decent amount of gaming news sites which should have been enough to attract the attention of the crowd of people that are claimed to want a new TLP PvP server.

Sure Zek might not be the perfect server you are looking for but that could also be the case with any new PvP server that they set up. That being said the devs have stated multiple times in the past that they need to see demand for a server by increasing the population of the only PvP server in the game. If players can't be bothered to do that why would the devs be convinced that they would support it on a server that requires a subscription?

That's kinda the point people are making. If you can't be bothered to log into Zek, and there is nothing one playing during peak times... Why waste the time making a TLP when they can spin out a normal TLP and make money? The community would rather they put time and resources into something that mattered then something that has a very small niche.

If people actually played on Zek and it at least had a med population size then there wouldn't be as many people against it.

They'd have to remove picks and AOC's to make pvp interesting.

A TLP with a ruleset of no picks, no aoc's and FFA pvp enabled is not experimental or able to carry over to parts of live, if it went well.

Red Agnarr 25th anniversary pvp server. That's the ask.

Some random dude organized it by making a post on these boards and Reddit. Wasn't anything official, was done on short notice, was just legit a post on here, Reddit an article on some low traffic website. It got like 150-200 upvotes/likes and like 150 people showed up for it, there was actually more people in the Discord but a lot of them didn't even have EQ installed on their PCs. It was bigger then what happened for Rizlona to get made.

But the RMTers on these boards will try to convince you otherwise because they know on a PvP server people are gonna roll up and kill their AFK stunbot enchanters in the Deep and make it so they have to get a job.

The lack of anything official should indicate to you (and the other 3 pvp bois) that DBG doesn't consider it worth their time. Rizlona whether you love it, don't care either way or hate it makes DBG money. PvP does not.

I sometimes wonder if the PvP advocates are just trolling and would never even log on to a TLP PvP because they could find some deficiency in the ruleset before release.

As I have said before, I have done a lot more EQ PvP outside of actual players on Zek than any of the current forum PvP'er's have done by their own admission and enjoyed the experience. I strongly suspect that were such a server to be released that rather than finding "easy kills" the forum fighters would be pwnzed by casual regular players much less any dedicated PvP players from Zek. And maybe that's why they don't even want to take the risk of making characters on Zek as it's a lot easier to talk the talk than to walk the walk. What you imagine you could do 20 years ago and what you can really do are two entirely different things

They can't beat the people that actually play on Zek all the time so they want a new TLP because of the nostalgia of all those times they grouped up to kill that single person that was passing through LOIO then proceeded to corpse camp them until they logged off. So they could give each other high fives.

It was announced weeks in advance, all over the forums constantly, featured on other websites, etc.

They even spent money to have a video made with 2 models in it lol.

150 people didn't show up. And there was a lot of people trolling in general chat with their multiple free boxes (no sub needed) with funny names. Inflating the #'s.

Spoiler: the RMTers on this board are never going to get killed because they're never going to play on it.

Which zones will be the designated PVP zones, like commons used to be for auctions? I imagine PVP won't be fun when 10 people are running around EQ's giant world trying to find each other.

Yes which is exactly why they cry all time when PvP gets brought up.

It seems more like the PvP side gets upset every time they get reminded that the devs have stated exactly what is required for them to consider a new PvP server.

Gaming sites, forums, and supporters went from server to server to advertise for it. And like you said, was still a colossal failure.

Devs state what is required in order to consider making a new PvP server and the PvP crowd keeps making excuses about why the request isn't possible.

Half the people arguing for PVP on this thread were/are notorious cheaters. The other half are probably just rolling with a T who actually will not play on a PVP server. The remainder is you and some other random who probably play EQ 2 weeks a year and claim they have "real life" in the way.
