Why is this only happening in certain zones? I can stay logged on all day in Tranquility or the Nexus
I am having this same problem. Happens mostly in commonlands but also in Ro, and even one time in Sol A of all places. In prime time hours it takes about 2 minutes for a /tell to arrive, takes up to 15 minutes to zone. Getting borderline unplayable. Never experienced this stuff with Mangler (currently on Aradune).
I am having the exact same issue. Wasted time going through steps that support suggested, despite telling them that I had zero issues before the server merge on FV.
This is standard in all troubleshooting. Vilifying EQ Support because they are trying to help you is not a good method for obtaining support. This is how troubleshooting goes when there are many variables. Sometimes the low-hanging fruit gets the job done (easy fixes), sometimes going deeper into the issue is required to root out the cause. Have patience, stick with it. And stay in communication with support channels so they can get more data. Never know where a hint or inspiration to find the cause could come from.
Not vilifying. I only said "wasted time" because after all of it, I was referred here like it would solve anything...
This is ruining the game for me, and I am on Povar. I originally thought it was a problem with windows, but as I should of known its something you guys screwed up. Makes boxing near impossible. Log in one toon and by the time you get the second toon logged in the first toon has went poof. I don't understand how you guys can be so bad at this.
Unfortunately the CTD has been getting progressively worse for me, since the launch of Aradune. I play on Aradune so a crash means back into the queue. I used to crash exclusively in commons (to the point where I no longer visit that zone), but now have experienced random crashing in both Paineel and Toxxulia Forest. Funny how since the last patch I DON'T CRASH ANYMORE.......still want me to waste my time posting PC info?
1. Troubleshooting steps - take those steps at time of post to resolve by utilizing low handing fruit, or sit with thumb up some place, hoping the next patch will fix all of your ills. 2. Actual crashes that create files to be send to DBG to review. 3. Since patch you do not crash anymore.. so why post your info? 4. Logging into first time since patch...Bolded potential files that needed updating. And this does not include any server files that were also updated on the backend. 5. Forums are player to player assist. You always have the option to email or use chat for DBG support (do they still do chat?), but said support are have an flowchart/outline of what steps to provide the player within defined parameters, whereas players are not restricted with said parameters. What is funny is that their database is also made up of player provided resolutions, which worked and worked again until SOE/DBG add said resolutions to their help database. 6. Yeah that's great but since the problems started after a patch and ended after a patch ITS NOT MY PROBLEM!!!
It appears to be totally random, does not generate a dbg file, just closes EQ. Seems to happen in a variety of zones.
