    Test patch notes are up....

they weren't joking about fixing itemization  Looks pretty awesome.

ps. Enchanter raid armor AC still needs tweaking!

Priests get two 1HBs, but FOUR 2HBs?

That is so stupid that I haven't even considered it could be true until now.

The two 1HBs are fine, but basically the same, and the four 2HBs are all incoherent garbage.

Interesting choice of words, "fix for dichotomic spell progression in place"... a "fix" suggests that they went live with the expansion release but just haven't been functioning.

Oh well, at least it was finally acknowledged. Prepare for server crash when everyone logs in and automatically gets rk 6 from progression being done :p

Much like keying for raid tiers, priest 2 HBs in chests artificially slow player gearing to an acceptable rate.

Agree. Much of the TBM drop stuff on my alts have no focus at all (still) - shoulders, cloak, belt, etc...

    The enc armor problem:

I have included in CoTF T2 items to show that we are in a worse state than then when it comes to AC, I realise this has been posted multiple times already but here goes again:

From Deillusional's info: (7 visible items combined per xpac)

ENC lose 22 HAGI (on base armor) going from TDS to TBM. They lose 280 AC, and gain only 5 spell damage. Considering HAGI is the favorite ENC stat, it should be increasing ihe most (not HSTR). I realize you can aug for HAGI and gain a lot, but this is still odd for base armor stats. I really think the armor could use more spell damage, as well. Spell damage is really tiny amounts of extra DPS, it's silly to only add 5 for the whole set.

Why 7 visible items and not 8?
  10. Duhbeast Augur

Keep in mind TBM have type 5 aug slots and the heroics are through the roof. Are you considering that?
  11. Random_Enchanter Augur

which 8 type 5 augs have a total of 280 AC? yes the massive boost in HAGI (265 if you type 5 for Hagi) is nice but does it really make up for the raw AC loss?

I'm not sure if it makes up for it, or whether other classes lose AC on their sets also. We are still waiting on a dev comment regarding whether it was overlooked or intended it seems. Just wanted to ensure that if we are showing charts with stats, there are more options than being displayed.

I went thru the patch notes, and I like what I see there. The problems with itemization are still very large in both number and scope. I do not expect everything to be fixed and perfect. I do expect it to be much better then before.

At this time, I think the best thing to do, have this patch roll out, take a breather, and then take a look at were we are, and what should still need to be done. I think that once this is rolled out, we will be at a point where we can start taking a look at combinations of items, sets of items, and how it scales verses previous gear, in terms of stuff like attack rating, accuracy, avoidance, HP, AC, Endurance, clairvoyance, heal amount, and so on.

Looking forward, most of the gear issues are nailed down, what I recommend we look at is what is dropping where, and what level you have to be to click what, as well as tuning events.
  14. Kravitz Augur

AC and mod2 values on the group gear is worse than TDS for all classes not just enchanters. Especially if you considering chest, leg and boot slots. Even after fully aug'ing them its worse by 50-80 AC. Some classes like monk, rogue and berserker and missing their special mod2 values as well.

Honestly, they should just start from scratch on itemization. At least on the group gear side. Call the "scaling" gear a failed experiment. Trying to patch the existing stuff is just a bottomless pit. Replace all the drop tables with new spreadsheet based stuff and give us full currency trade in value at the merchants for existing stuff. Yes, people that have multiple pieces will get over compensated, but better to properly fix items than to worry about people getting extra currency.

I don't even know what the long term vision of the scaling stuff is. If they intend it to go forward, do we no longer need armor drops in future content and it becomes all about upgrading augs? If so, that becomes really boring. Otherwise, they're going to have to keep buffing the base level 75 gear and that becomes really over powering at lower levels. Or was the plan to just abandon it after this expansion? If so, they just wasted a bunch of time bothering to create it in the first place.

He was talking specifically about Enchanter raid armor. In many cases the actual GROUP gear can be built to have higher AC than the raid gear at this point. Silk class AC was plastered across the board with the same values is what it looks like to me.
  17. Deillusional Augur

This is raid armor not group. We should not have to travel back 3 expansions in terms of AC / HAgi on our raid items.

The only reason I'm okay with the slightly reduced hAGI is because they put it on hSTA (a less stupid choice than the others) and because of slot 5 augs. I still think it's wrong but I wouldn't even care if they didn't touch the heroics if it meant fixing the rest.
  19. Random_Enchanter Augur

That's the thing though, on the raid items, since they have a type 5, it seems like they are expecting the final outcome to be with a type 5 augment in it. So, if you pick the top 8 type 5 Hagi aug on the visible gear you come out something around 265 Hagi over, with something like 80-120 other heroic stat each. The loss of the AC is a question though. Does getting an additional 10 threshold of dodge and 117 Hsta (1755 hp per Raidloot) make up the loss of the 280 armor AC?
  20. Deillusional Augur

not with AC, could possibly live with the agi being less.
