In EverQuest you pay SOE $14.99 a month to be Gold...err, I mean "All Access" (to what???), and unthinkable things like this happen.? Will they make up for the time lost? No, they will give you a meaningless extra experience bonus on a weekend, when the rest of the week you are fuched!

I hope this stirs SOE out of their complacency! There is no longer a reason why people who have just joined the game and want to experience some of the Old World EQ of Kunark, Velious, and especially Luclin, have to wait an unbearable 72 hours for a mob to spawn! Please! Get real! Though we pay our due, some of us don't have the time to catch up to 15 years of playing, or can afford to camp a mob 24/7 for 4 days! How about being a bit more realistic with changing times, for a change, and have Epic 1.0 mobs and drops spawn and drop more often. And Vex Thal Nameds spawn in 6 or 8 hours instead of in days or whenever servers reset??? After the game has advanced so much, is that unreasonable?

This is no longer a multi-player game. Because of SOE's greed to get more monthly subscriptions from the same player, boxing, and mercs have supplanted the need to group with others...that is unless you can't pay for multiple accounts, or your old computer can't handle boxes. But hey! Who cares while SOE keeps raking the money in! Tough luck! Fuch you!

I think that this unfortunate mishap should prompt SOE to do some soul searching, and as a corporation, determine what their services should be to earn the money they so desperately seek from us.

Bretty...if you're so concerned with farming 14 year old content then you should be complacent enough to wait the several days for respawns. Unless there's a revamp or HH for VT then it's irrelevant . I doubt EQ would miss your 11 free accounts with dial-up access. IF you're indeed spending $1300-1400 on accounts and your ISP then you have more problems to worry about rather than spawn times on outdated content. Go back to your x-box live or your WoW...

Yep, right now the Akhish Hiz patch is running. But you should able to proceed to the server selection.

If not, either your PC or your ISP's DNS server still has the old data from yesterday afternoon. Time will / should fix this.

The game is still down, as is the official Everquest site...And no, I'm not going to make changes to my computer that may come back to bite me later, so gonna wait this one out. Fingers crossed that this gets resolved soon.

I dont See How we still are charged for the time playing when we dont get to play at ALL i kinda think that is a lil unfair.... Just saying.....

Well well so SoE is the program I though a virus got into my internet connection they didn't have any of this info up at all for the last few days. so uninstalled EQ reinstalling now. checked all my games Aoc,wow,diablo3,mc2,Eqp99 all works fine. but EQlive was irresponsible on paying there bills. but quick to shut down players accounts if our funds are not in the bank when they pull out. I say we need reinburishment Triple Xp for the rest of Month July then it ends August 10,2014. who all agree's? because i still got chars was born in 2002 needing to get some to at least Lvl 80 or higher.

Because of a 4 hours patch running. It's been expected the servers go accessible again in approx two hours.

Unfortunately you're right. Currently, www.everquest.com straight goes to the registration site https://www.everquest.com/register . But, if you come that far, ...

... there's no need to make any revertable changes to your computer.

You can still try the fixes "ipconfig /flushdns" and "ipconfig /registerdns" from a Command Prompt (run that as Administrator) since those flush old DNS entries which are stored / cached on your computer and re-register your computer's network adapters. No permanent settings are made.

And if all this doesn't help, the problem was caused by SOE, granted, but it persists because the DNS servers of your ISP didn't get any updates since yesterday. And DNS updating across the world is a process SOE can't speed up .

If anyone has the IP address it's supposed to resolve to we can all manually add the entry.
Per machine use old school host file, server environment just add the A record.
Anyone know where to point?

I have been reading the plethora of posts, great code hacks folks thanks. BUT the issue the glaring point of the germane issue is “Professional competence, a since of urgency, and execution of occupational skills.” It boggles my mind that an executive officer of a major cooperation would ever let such lackadaisical job performance exist that potentially could brutally damage the companies brand, it is very simply put gross incompetence top down. We each one of us should never be responsible for navigating the cyber protocols or programming intricacies associated with the existing issues, this is not an opinion but a statement of fact, and this is what the employees of SOE are paid to do CEO down. Oh and go ahead ban me if you wish I have been away for 10 years already, in part due to like issues.

I am still not able to connect if I have an active IPv6 connection. I have to disable it to connect even with the host file updates.

just checked, the DNS is still not assigned to Everquest when is this going to be fixed? still says expired pending deletion or renewal and "dns back ordered"

just to update my earlier posts, it seems that Bertos, Cazic, and Rathe servers are still unaccessable. Able to log in to the other servers randomly tested.

Someone happen to have the address specific to those servers?

The point of being here would be that of recreational relaxation ie… paying for cable stations in order to “Relax” and watch sporting events that “Entertain” one, or venturing out to a Casino to chance a few coin to gain some recreational enjoyment in the thrill of games of chance, or cast discretion to the winds and engage in an evening of dining and dancing and or loading up a online game that invokes nostalgia of years gone by, grouping and gaming with personal friends. Regardless of my personal point of being here the afore mentioned point of contention still exists, and so your point of failed glib repartee would be?

another day gone by and still can not log in , i see many post saying to do this and do that ... some have tried and can log in some have tried and get errors now.
I PAY MY BILLS ON TIME so my stuff does not get shut off. my current work scheduale does not allow much play time makes it VERY aggrivating when this kinda bull happens.

Somewhere in the first pages of this post is a large list of URLs and their assigned IPs, ready for C&P into the hosts file.
But it's easier to enter SOE's Domain Name Server as preferred DNS and google's public DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) as alternate DNS.

As for the outage, SOE is not responsible for old DNS entries over the world. They told you it can need up to two days until almost all DNS server over the world are updated again.
If you still can't log in, blame your ISP for their slow DNS update schedule now. My ISP's (Vodafone Germany) DNS is up-to-date again; I used the combo SOE's DNS + Google's public DNS for yesterday evening.

What's weird is the address is Florida and the 570 area code is same as mine, rural PA.

Everyone is expecting double xp weekend. I'd like to see something exciting like a free week of gold membership. That always brings out friends I haven't seen for years.
