How is their fault that a bunch of losers are doing ddos attacks?

USPC is definitely up but I think they're still getting DDOSED since the game is still getting lag spikes.

More importantly what security precautions can be taken to protect against such attacks? (And could this be why I sometimes have trouble uploading posts on the forums?

Oh come on this is getting flippin annoying. SOE upgrade your dang security because it is making me want to cancel my sub. My mouse is hovering over cancel.

Are you guys still on? Because I haven't been able to log into USPC at all (black Launchpad screen) and I've been trying once an hour basically.

Yes but when this is basically occurring as often as this is you think they would invest in better security. Why are we paying for this game when it is down due these no lifes? Happened on Christmas and that lasted for how long? Let's face it, their security sucks!

I managed to get in an hour ago; unfortunately, I was unaware of the DDOS issues. I ran the vault, and I got disconnected before I could break any presents (I tried to break them, but they would not break). Now I am locked from the vault. Yay!

1st step of troubleshooting, check information resources. Some i've bookmarked over time, because eliminating the possibility the problem is on my end is still troubleshooting, and a good 1st step b4 spending time reinstalling or doing anything.

What i found to be interesting, is the use of "meow" in the smedley twitter from someone replying. although it may be simply common and nothing to do with anything, i see that in VLFG (could be a hero, as custom channels are not limited to a faction) and Funhouse a lot. (could be a setup)

First cant log in to DCUO now they got the forums too. This is crazy.

For the record there is NO WAY TO PREVENT DDOS attacks. They are frustrating but "upgrading security" will not prevent them. If you have questions about why this is so look up the efinition of Denial Of Services attack on Google.

ddos is what exactly? incase its not self explanatory how does it cause this ?

Just got into USPC (10:40 AM PST) after roughly 30min of nothing but a black screen on launchpad.
