They actually have been already. Square Enix is currently making a marvel mmo. It announced around the same time that they posted the release date for marvel omega to launch for ps4. Square said they are making an announcement in 2018.

Don't see why they couldn't have both, but then again, they shut down SWG to make way for that other faeces-fest

It's confirmed to be an actual MMO though? Last someone else posted they just got hints of it being an online based action adventure game.

So far nothing has been offically confirmed if it is a mmo. But what makes me believe it will be was this reddit thread 3 months ago about someone who data mined the hire sheet of square enix and their project, Then later there was a comment from one of the representatives saying the usual statement "We plan to support this game for so and so amount of years" etc etc.

I spent the last few hours trying to dig up that thread again but no luck or it was deleted. But overall, yeah everything is speculation at this point. Only thing legit is from square and the announcement they make.

How Ironic this thread is. I've seen plenty of crying on the DCUO main forums about how this and other MMO's should die, and yet here we are: Marvel Heroes is an mmo that's actually about to die, what are yall upset about? you people got your wish

As far as the game it's self goes: I probably would've been interested, but it turned me off because It played like a Diablo Clone with Marvel Characters only. So much potential missed in this game with the Marvel License. Seriously, I feel sorry for the developers whom worked on this game; but I don't feel sorry for any of the"MMO killer" squad who are now crying about this. This is what you keep asking for, now deal with the consequences.
  7. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

That's... exactly what it was: but rather than a 'Diablo Clone with Marvel skins', it would be more likened to "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" Online

Anyone remember that failed DC game? Infinity... something? o_O

    Infinity Crisis ^
  10. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

Yeah, that's the one, why doesn't anyone talk about that one anymore?
  11. Jacob Dragonhunter Steadfast Player

Because it was mainly a PVP game that failed due to a lack of streaming content, the game went down in 2015 and well here we are 2 years later; so yeah.

Infinite Crisis is a MOBA kinda like DOTA or LoL. I played it during Beta but It got has charm to pull me back into playing it.

Marvel Heroes Players Are Demanding Refunds For In-Game Purchases

A Marvel Heroes player who goes by EITTurtle bought the game on Xbox in July. Since then, he says he’s sunk $400 in microtransactions, unlocking characters like Spider Man, Storm, and Captain America. Earlier this week, Marvel announced that the game’s servers will be shut down in December. And EITTurtle, like many other players, is now begging for a refund.

Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play “Marvel Diablo” game that developer Gazillion Entertainment released on PC in 2013. Earlier this year, Gazillion ported the game to Xbox One and PS4. Players could access a few characters without paying, but to get all of the game’s heroes, you’d have to buy them at around $5 per character or in packs costing $20. You could also spend money on other add-ons, like costumes. Earlier this week, after Gazillion lost its contract with Marvel, the company said said it would remove real-money purchases ASAP.

It was good and well for Gazillion to make the whole game free during its sunset hours, but console players are peeved—and in some cases, furious—that they only got a couple of months’ play out of Squirrel Girl and her superhero kin, especially since many invested a chunk of cash into the game. On PC, players might have had years to enjoy their premium heroes, but console players have just had a few months. A few players have reported snagging refunds for Xbox purchases made in the last month or so, but dozens on the /r/MarvelHeroes subreddit have postedcomments about their own failed efforts.

Marvel, Sony, Microsoft and Gazillion did not return requests for comment on how Marvel Heroes is handling refunds. But Marvel Heroes’ terms of service says that Gazillion can get rid of the game and in-game content whenever it wants and owe its users nothing, a clause that is included in just about every game that sells add-ons.

“I know there a lot of hard working players out there that take pride in grinding and spending hours to unlock characters,” EITTurtle told me. “I am not one of those people. . . for me, time is money.” He says when he tried to get a refund, Xbox Support told him that they didn’t yet have official word on how Gazillion plans to handle the process.

Seanacy Fillock, who spent over 700 hours playing the game, mostly on PC but a little on PS4, said he isn’t demanding a refund for his PC gear because he’s had it for so long, but that he didn’t get his money’s worth in the few months he had the game on console. He said he was actually connected to a Sony customer support agent who was also trying to get a refund for the game. The agent, however, could not help him get his money back. Andrew S., who has spent $75 on in-game Marvel Heroes purchases, sent Kotaku screenshots in which a Microsoft support specialist says that Andrew can’t get his money back.

Andrew added that Marvel Heroes’ servers shutting down feels like “a slap in the face on several levels,” adding that “I barely had it and it’s already leaving.”

Who are you mad at man, LOL?

Almost everyone here agreed the game wasn't the best, and compares it to dcuo? I think the folks you're talking about are in the gameplay discussion forums.

Because it wasn't on consoles. :p

Custom character is an excellent selling point for DCUO. Folks do inspired characters from all types of genre: DC, Marvel, anime, classic cartoons (transformers, ninja turtles, even Looney toon). Used to see a cast of walking dead characters at Little Bo.

If someone does a DC iconic, say flash; person can mix match to their liking. The appeal is certainly there. ; rebirth, new52, silver age, CW TV, WB movie flash.. Various incarnations.

Their lack of loot boxes is exactly why I play Warframe over Tera, SWTOR, WildStar, Destiny 2 and any number of other games. I've never spent one dime on Station/Daybreak cash but I've purchased platinum in Warframe three times in the last two weeks alone. I have zero issues supporting the game for not using ******* gambling boxes.
  18. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

And that's ultimately why MHO failed: because they went to the console-graveyard
  19. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

Then you shouldn't have any issues with EQ2, they have no gambling boxes (apart from the actual Gambling Goblins)

Someone mentioned EQ2 somewhere and I missed it?
