DCUO Raid Idea: Metal's Reprise (Ultimate)

  1. TheLQ-DCUO Loyal Player

An ultimate raid would be modelled similar to the Ultimate raids in FFXIV. Content will be equivalent in difficulty to elite plus and offer reward only as a limited time event. Would drop renown boxes that can give renown to players for a raid of their choice, and mark boxes to players that would reward a choice of marks from the endgame, as well as Source Marks (Similar to the anniversary elite raid). There would be 16 endgame marks rewarded upon completion.

The only thing different from elite plus is that there will be unlimited rallies. However, players will be required to have beat all elite raids in the current endgame to unlock this.

This raid would take place inside the Source Wall.

    Mechanics below:
  2. TheLQ-DCUO Loyal Player

    Mechanics:

Perpetua would be in the background doing certain overarching mechanics, including:

Giant Perpetua's Eyebeam - Perpetua may point at the bottom left or bottom right of the room before spawning a large Source Beam and moving it across the room. This must be avoided or it will do heavy damage and probably KO in elite. For best practice try not to stand at a beam spawn point (the bottom left/right of the room) at all times during the fight and always have situational awareness of Perpetua and what is happening around you, especially in elite plus.

Planet Strike - Perpetua may spawn several meteors on the group - this is indicated by a large pink AOE. Players should move away from this or it will do heavy damage or probably KO in elite.

Source Eruption - Perpetua may make the ground light in some areas. This should be avoided as it will spawn a source orbital attack in the area of effect. If players are directly affected by this it will do heavy damage or probably KO in the elite version. (Players usually refer to these as 'cracks' due to the design of the AOE)

Source Eruption/Planet Strikes will not occur while Pockets of Dark Energy are active.

The first subboss that would spawn in the fight would be ORCL-Enhanced Lady Blackhawk. A mix of the ORCL Bot from CTE and Lady Blackhawk from PCE.

    Mechanics:
    1. Magnetic War Cry* - The boss will stun/ground the group before doing a war cry. This does mild damage, however if players do not block this they will be pulled to the boss. This is followed by the boss charging towards a random player. You will need to block this charge otherwise it will KO you. Upon the charge impact (if the player hasn't blocked in time) or if the boss doesn’t impact anyone tornado AOEs (Spinning Winds) will spawn, which do considerable damage over time if players stand in them for too long.
    2. Razor Feathers: Lady Blackhawk will do a 360 cone attack, where she will do 4 black feather cone attacks, starting north, then east, then south, then west. These KO on impact unless the player is either blocking or stood diagonal from where Lady Blackhawk is situated at the time. (Similar to Eye of Ekron's 360 ability in Convergence of Unmaking raid)
    3. Occasionally Lady Blackhawk may fly in the air then swoop down and charge a random player. This should be blocked to mitigate incoming damage however it can still knock back players on impact.
    4. Dark Energy Phase: A fairly tricky mechanic by DCUO standards especially considering that adds/boss can still be a threat to the group during this. This phase will commence with Lady Blackhawk saying in VA: "Your world is lost. Accept your fate". This occurs again when the phase returns. Text will appear on-screen stating: "Taking the blast from a SMALL pocket of DARK ENERGY will protect you from the large one!" Batman will also state in VA "Let one of the smaller blasts hit you. That will repel the larger blast” Two smaller red energy with a timer will spawn along with a large red energy with a somewhat slower timer. Everyone in the group should be stood directly next to a smaller red energy around the time its respective timer ends. This will be indicated in the combat log as Small Pocket of Dark Energy, which will do minor to moderate damage to affected players. Failing to be hit by this in time will cause the player to be KO'd by the Large Pocket of Dark Energy when its timer runs out shortly after. Also don't go to the bigger red energy by mistake, this is usually situated in the middle top or bottom of the room. There is one smaller red energy to the left side of the room and one to the right side of the room, sometimes northwest/northeast or southwest/southeast.
    5. Exostatic: A short while after you enter the room, you will be turned blue or red. If a blue player and a red player are near each other, constant shockwaves will deal massive unblockable damage to the whole room. To prevent this, you must arrange for players of each colour to be in separate areas, e.g. before going in, agree that "red players go south/left, blue players go north/right". She will also randomly change some of your colours when she falls below 75% and 50% (possibly more times) health. All players must maintain sufficient distance from every other player.
    6. Exobyte Overcharge: Starting when she reaches 66% health, pools of the opposite color is generated beneath every single player. If you are blue, a red pool appears beneath you and vice versa. If you are in a opposite color pool, this causes constant massive damage, so dodge right away.
    7. Exoblast: A shockwave that hits the whole room, but only once and not constantly.
    8. Towards the second half of the boss fight OLB may spawn Forgemaster Hawkman to assist her in battle. He won’t be attackable but he will walk towards the middle of the room and do a big smash attack in the middle of the room. This must be blocked or it will KO.
    Further notes:

During the Dark Energy phases at 75%/50%/25% of boss health, this is when Exabyte Overcharge will be triggered. OLB will be invulnerable and shielded at this time, so won’t be able to attack the group. The 4 players that are blue will need to stack on one small red energy, while the other 4 players that are red will need to stack on the other, and both get hit as the respective timers run out for the two small red energy. After this occurs, Exobyte Overcharge will occur and the pools will be placed on the floor. Immediately after the big red energy’s timer goes off, the phase will repeat a second time and the red and blue players will need to swap around without running into each other in the process. They will then need to take damage from the small red energy when its respective timer runs out on the other side of the room to where they were first. This should work as the pools on the other side should match the colour of the players at the time. After the big energy’s timer has run out OLB will be vulnerable again.

During the second and third dark energy/exobyte overcharge phases Destroyer adds will spawn nearby to the respective smaller dark energy. While the players are stacked on the small dark energy they will need to defeat/lunge the Destroyer adds, to stop them using their Atomic Boom ability. Atomic Boom will do massive raidwide damage and heal OLB.

Once OLB is defeated Perpetua will point at a random player before doing her Infinite Source Beam attack - this player will have a white arrow above their head. This player must block or it will cause a group wipe.
  3. TheLQ-DCUO Loyal Player

After this Royal-Enhanced Grail will spawn, the next sub boss. A mix of the Queen Diana fight from RWE and Grail from FGSE. At this stage Exostatic won’t be active.

    REG Mechanics:
    • Grail may teleport and do a staff slam attack, be sure to stay to the left or right of where she is facing. She will then likely throw her staff, this can be stopped by lunging (Hold Square on PS) her. Being in line of sight of this attack as a non-Tank will do heavy damage or probably KO. Later in the fight she may do a different mechanic when she teleports.
    • Grail may do a reflect attack - this will be indicated via red text on the screen, a skull icon over Grail's head, and voice over. Do not attack Grail with weapon/powerset abilities during this time as it will reflect damage and knock players away. You may however use an Orbital Strike on Grail while she is doing this for damage out.
    • Grail may surge up in the air and do a slight knock back. During this time her defence will be higher for a short time, so DPS should refrain from using their bigger damage abilities around this time. While she does this she will spawn letters around the room, and all players will then get symbols above their head. They will need to run to the matching symbol on the floor as soon as possible. The symbol will do raidwide damage to the group until it is cleansed, and if a player stands on the wrong symbol they will be KO’d. During this phase Perpetua will not spawn Source Eruptions or Planet Strikes.
    • Grail will prepare an Omega Beam attack, indicated by a Omega symbol timer above her head. Do heavy damage around this time, or she will Omega Beam an affected player with the Omega symbol above their head, and that player will be KO’d from this attack. If you pass the damage check, Grail will spawn Omega Orbital Strikes on all players, which should be avoided or those players will take considerable damage.
    • Grail may summon Volatile Shades to her side via Hades. They must be KO’d in a certain timeframe or they will detonate and do large raidwide damage to the group.
    • Grail will spawn spinning axes which will follow two players in the group. These do moderate damage over time if a player is in them. The two players will have an arrow above their heads. You should be careful where you place axes, as especially later safe zones will become increasingly limited with add spawns. Be careful not to attack Grail during reflect phases in this case. If you are knocked out under an axe it is very difficult to revive that player so try not to if possible. Having high single target damage on Grail should make the fight go faster and this will be less of a risk to the group.
    • It isn't recommended in this fight to use a Supply Drop in the elite version of the raid, apart from early during Grail's reflect phase and early during Grail's Omega Beam damage check (when the omega icon is above her head). If you use a Supply Drop Grail will lunge and use a spinning move on the player that used a Supply Drop, KO'ing any nearby players.
    • Grail may teleport before doing a skull icon, and then giving all players an Ancient Curse AOE (similar to Black Alice’s Fateful Contempt from ROEE+), which will repeatedly spawn and track that player for a time. All players must move so the AOEs don’t stack on that player, as they do considerable damage over time, and avoid other players. If a player is KO’d to this, the AOEs will stack on the fallen player for a time so wait a little before reviving that player.
    • Grail may spawn Ares for a time, who will charge the group several times. Avoid Ares during this. He will teleport out of the fight after.
    • Grail may spawn Zeus for a time, who will give 4 players lightning proximity markers. Avoid other players during this. He may also cage the other 4 random players. You will need to breakout but make sure this isn’t at the same time as others as cage breakouts do large raidwide damage. This will not coincide with Omega Beam and caged players will take reduced damage from Source Eruption/Planet Strike/Giant Perpetua’s Eyebeam.
Once REG is defeated Perpetua will revert to her normal size, with increased health, and attack the group directly. Additionally all axes will explode with a red AOE, any players near them will be KO’d.
  4. TheLQ-DCUO Loyal Player

    Perpetua mechanics:
    1. Unlike in Source Wall raid, Source Eruptions may still occur while Perpetua is small.
    2. Perpetua may still do her beam attack and give that player a white arrow, which must be blocked or it will wipe the group.
    3. Enhanced Rebuked Isolation - One player will get a green stack marker with a timer. As many players as possible should stack on that player to minimise incoming damage when the timer stops. If not enough players do this it will wipe the group. Players will need to remain in stack formation for longer as this will impact multiple times (once every 1.5 seconds for 5 impacts) unlike in the Source Wall raid.
    4. Enhanced Infectious Ire - All players will get a red proximity marker with a timer. Stay away from others when this goes off or it will do large damage to nearby players. Again like RI it will impact multiple times (once every 1.5 seconds for 5 impacts) so stay away from other group members for longer.
    5. Dead Planet - Periodically small orbs will spawn which players will need to interact with in a certain time. These will debuff your damage and healing out for a time, however if you don’t interact in time all players will be debuffed.
    6. Mental Distortion - Perpetua will give 2 random players an AOE attack, which does damage over time. Martian Manhunter will spawn as an NPC, who can cleanse the MD if you interact with him. If you are too close will affected to other players they will also get MD.
    7. Perpetua may call upon Dark Knights to aid her in battle, not as sub bosses but just for their mechanics. If The Drowned appears with a skull icon all players need to block for her Call of the Deep attack. If Murder Machine spawns with a skull icon he will point at a player and then direct Bolt Barrage/Grenade Launcher towards that player. If Dawnbreaker appears with a skull icon he will raise his fist and spawn Dark Construct Strike AOEs on all players, which must be evaded or will KO. If Devastator spawns with a skull icon he will point at a random player and then direct Spike Wave towards that player, which must be blocked or evaded. If Red Death spawns with a skull icon he will spawn Speed Force Energy (like Professor Zoom in RWE), which do mild damage over time but need to be interacted with in a certain timeframe. If they aren’t interacted with they will disappear but heal Perpetua.
After Perpetua is defeated, she will become a void version of herself, gaining REG and OLB’s abilities, REG’s staff as a weapon and OLB’s wings on her back.

    Final Boss: Ultimate Perpetua

Certain mechanics will be more deliberate timing wise. This will be at or above elite plus difficulty.

    Mechanics:
    1. Certain mechanics such as Dead Planet, Source Eruption and Planet Strike will still occur.
    2. At 90% health UP will give all players Exostatic. This is soon followed by Magnetic War Cry, which all players should block or they will be pulled to the boss. Stay in block as UP will then teleport to a random player and do a staff slam. If the affected player isn’t blocking they will be KO’d and Spinning Winds AOEs will spawn, which will do large damage over time. Once the Spinning Winds AOE has disappeared (or after a short wait) UP will give all players Ancient Curse AOE, and all players will need to move away from each other and the AOEs while they follow those players.
    3. At 75% health UP will shield and be invulnerable for a time. This will commence the small dark energy/large dark energy. Red players should go to one small dark energy and blue players to the other. At 80% of the small dark energy timers, one red player and one blue player will both get a Exobyte Overcharged Enhanced Rebuked Isolation* stack marker. The group will need to be hit by the small red energy and stack for RI, but RI will be multiple impact and every 1.5 seconds it will hit again. When RI impacts each player will place an opposite colour pool, and will need to move with the stack so they aren’t stood on the opposite colour pool. Around the same time as the fifth RI impact the Dark Energy phase will repeat and the red and blue groups will need to swap carefully so they are stacking on the other small dark energy. At 80% of the small dark energy timer all players will get an Exabyte Overcharged Enhanced Infectious Ire* proximity marker, so once they have all taken damage from the small red energy, all players will need to spread out for this mechanic. Upon impact (5 times) It will drop an opposite colour pool underneath each player, so players will need to spread out, avoiding overarching AOEs, their own opposing pools, other players and their pools (if opposite).
    4. Once the latter big dark energy timer has gone off, UP will be vulnerable again and will immediately use Magnetic War Cry, which all players must block or they will be pulled into other players and opposite colour pools, likely causing a group wipe.
    5. UP will soon after teleport to another player and do a Staff Slam, which will KO if the player isn’t blocking and also spawn Spinning Winds AOEs. UP will then give all players Ancient Curse. This may be tricky as opposite colour pools may still be around so all players need to watch positioning closely.
    6. UP will then point at a random player and give them a white arrow, while having an Omega symbol above her head with a timer. UP will prepare Perpetua’s Infinite Omega Beam*. This is a difficult damage check. If UP isn’t interrupted in time she will use Infinite Omega Beam on the player and wipe the group. If UP is interrupted in time she will spawn Omega Orbital Strikes multiple times in succession on each player.
    7. At this stage, two Destroyer adds will spawn, which need to be defeated ASAP and lunged so they aren’t able to use Atomic Boom to do huge damage to the group and heal UP.
    8. Two players will get a red arrow and Spinning Blades, which will follow for a time and then stay in place for the remainder of the fight until further notice. Make sure to position these carefully.
    9. At 50%/25% health, UP will repeat notes 3-8. Also when UP uses Perpetua’s Infinite Omega Beam regardless of whether the damage check is passed or not the sheer power of this will be enough to explode the Spinning Blades AOEs, so make sure to stay away from these.
    10. During the second half of the boss fight, Perpetua will tether two players with matching colours to each other. All will need to move close to one another or the tether will wipe the group.
    11. On the second and third dark energy phases, the boss will spawn 3 Speed Force Energy around her while shielded at the same time as the Dark Energy spawn. Group members should ensure these are activated so the boss doesn’t restore health, while on the way to stack with their respective colour players on one of the two small dark energy, and while minding other AOEs and opposite colour players in the fight.
    12. If the boss isn’t defeated in 12 minutes, she will do her Infinite Omega Beam attack repeatedly until either she is defeated or the group wipes. Given how steep this damage check is already it is more likely the latter will occur.
Once you defeat UP you have completed the Ultimate raid and will get all loot here.
  6. TheLQ-DCUO Loyal Player

Most mechanics here are already in the game in some form.

    Some combined mechanics mentioned above:

    1. Magnetic War Cry - PCE Lady Blackhawk's War Cry at the exact same time as CTE Reprogrammed Oracle Bot's Magnetic Distortion.
    2. Exobyte Overcharged Enhanced Rebuked Isolation - CTE Reprogrammed Oracle Bot's Exobyte Overcharge at the exact same time as the impact of SWE Perpetua's Rebuked Isolation. (The impact of Rebuked Isolation will give all affected players an opposite colour pool on the floor underneath them). This is enhanced so RI will occur every 1.5 seconds on the same player 5 successive times.
    3. Exobyte Overcharged Enhanced Infectious Ire - CTE Reprogrammed Oracle Bot's Exobyte Overcharge at the exact same time as the impact of SWE Perpetua's Infectious Ire. (The impact of Infectious Ire will give all affected players an opposite colour pool on the floor underneath them). This is enhanced so II will occur every 1.5 seconds on all players 5 successive times.
    4. Perpetua’s Infinite Omega Beam - FGSE Grail's Omega Beam damage check, except if the damage check is failed it will likely cause a group wipe in the same way that SWE Perpetua's Infinite Source Beam does if the targeted player isn't blocking.
  7. Robinton Well-Known Player

    Good idea! I like it!
