Sure your blog your rules, not your site, not your game, not your property, in other words your opinions is worth asa much as mine. Complete trash. You don't like mine. I don't respect yours.

The law in this case is daybreakgames and not it's crying members. And the police and country wouldn't allow people to kick others from public transport. Which these forced teams are much more akin to. I didn't ask to be part of a certain party. I got forced with strangers because I chose to go.

I wasn't distracting the bus driver, sabotaging the ride or anything. It's not your bus not your party. If I were to beg you to join your league then sure you have a case for wanting me to respect what you run. But I would never. So you don't have a right to lord over me.

In other words give me solo or shut up.

Censorship is trying to control what others can or can't say. Sure a company might ban blatant racism. People try to control others with everything they can imagine. I hate being controlled by anyone who thinks they should be.

I respect the law as an agreement in which ******* eachother over is been made harder. However if those same laws would mean that a lot got ****** over for a few. I'd be right on the side of villainy. Lawful doesn't make right. And a pottymouth doesn't make a monster. I'll admit I do appreciate the fact that the more dangerous corona becomes, the more impatient people become and the more likely they are going to drop political correct behavior. Waiting for the day that people just start saying what they really think again.

Nah, it's a fact that you disagree with that ****. But it doesn't make it wrong.

Because no one has the authority to dictate what I can or can't say. I hate hierarchies and since almost everyone will try to force you into theirs I'll start kicking around until it falls down. This is individual on individual. No man or god stands above me. Either people can act like equals or when they try to act like the top they get treated like a bottom. Easy as that.

    Any more questions?

Ah and before you start asking why I feel entitled to make demands?
These people want my money, preferably all of it. Or as much as I can throw. Which means there is a power position to make demands.

And while there are always rules of conduct. They aren't enforced. Let's pretend that as an unspoken rule suddenly everyone agreed that on any and all threads I run there will be no reporting or crying about how toxic or mean the messages can get. If enough people agree to it, Daybreak isn't going to care too much about it. Unless it can end up in a court. But those are all very busy with more important businesses at the moment.

Sure I pay taxes. But where I live that money is put back into the country and it's people. Schooling, med care, etc.

Since daybreak or you for that matter provide for me in any capacity you guys don't have that leeway.
Don't worry about the law and rules. If I set my mind to it I can play dirty and be completely legal and proper.

I chose not to. I prefer to be this foulmouth. I prefer to be honest in sharing what I think. I hate putting on airs and having nasty surprises.

Not really. You are comparing private property with public places. It doesn`t work like that.

Kicking function was implemented to allow the members of a group content to kick whoever they consider not to be adding anything positive to the situation. It's really not the example you presented, because you are not protected by law, it's a case of you being in a party, then the people of the party decide you have to go because they don't like you. What would you do? Call the police because you want the law to force them to accept you as if this was USSR? Sure. Then the cops would ask "gentlement, is any of you the owner of this place?", one of them would go "Yes, that is me, and I don't want this guy in my property". The police would escort you out, wether you liked it or not.

Daybreak is not offering a public service. It's a private company with a private game, giving the users a place where they can decide who gets to stay and who gets to leave.

Is it an assholish thing to do? Maybe. But then again they aren't, and shouldn't, be forced to accept you, just as you shouldn`t be forced to accept them.

Did you pay for the game? Okay. But how do you know THEY didn't pay as well? They are as entitled as you are, and, considering a 4-group instance, we have one guy wanting to force others to be accepted versus 3 other guys wanting to force him to leave.

    Democracy wins.

Working with the examples and analogies I have been provided with. Besides I don't particularly care about those opinions. At the moment I'm just keeping myself busy. If you guys read all of me posts you should already know that I decided not to play anymore.

Democracy never wins. Look at the most democratic country on earth and how well it's doing lol.

Besides if I'm in a group with people and everyone says yes. I won't say yes if I don't want to say yes. It'll be a hard no. Even if it halts the fun of everyone. If they can't take mine into account none of them deserve to have fun.

I work on that basis of fairness. not on what most people want. On the flip side if people would actually try to make it fun for me or by taking what I say serious then I might be that much more inclined to give them the same courtesy..

You don`t have to believe me if you don`t want, for I am not stating my opinion, I am stating facts. Things are how they are. Besides, we are not talking politics, we are talking about how things work within the game and its mechanics.

Don`t let the door hit you on your way out.

You've been talking politics this whole time dimwit. Trying to dictate what kind of behavior players should show and how they should accept things they don't like. You want them to bend to what you want so you don't get annoyed. You rather be the ******* that kicks others prematurely than maybe be griefed and not be able to kick.

It's politics even if ya don't want to mention it.

The mechanics are just dumb imo. But the mechanics themselves are factual. Can't say it doesn't work like that.
But your explanation about why it is important to you is just your opinion.

And if you want me to be real pedantic most answers here miss the point of the question. They all just repeat the what is and why it is. Not answering the original question.

People trying their best to explain why what is is ok and that me and all others that would like it to change are the issue.

You keep calling me out on not being anti-social and just play nice.

But how many of you are terrified of the possible troll, the bad player, to not have control over your play experience. Trying to hold on to the idea of kicking people like it;s the blanket from your baby days. |

Everyone is hung up on the kicking. The question and issue is making things soloable. So that noone gets in eachothers way playing a game. You can keep kicking then, Since people don't need to team up, chances of toxic team members should go down. Or you will be able to find the few dedicated trolls.

Wow this whole thread had a point and then took a nose dive.

Sorry you had an issue with folks kicking you but there might have been a reason, whatever that is only you or the other 3 people will ever know. Many MMOs out there certainly have a more progressive Old Content run through that a slot can be solo'd to get where you need to be but this game wasn't made that way and at this point I dont see it ever being able to change the base game and other Episodes to fit a new direction to make things more soloable.

I will also echo, this is an MMO, while some aspects you can solo, the majority of content you will be forced to play with others if you want to experience other aspects of the content. Your thread started out giving your thoughts on what you want to go with your playstyle but then derailed into childish tantrums. Take a breathe a moment and understand, its a game. This is an MMORPG. You may come across a lot and every single one does things different for better or worst but thats game development. Its not always the same.

The Devs here know the issues of old content and are trying their best to get around it the best way they humanly can but expecting Soloable content straight out isnt going to happen due to limitations across the board. If you want to Solo stuff, be sure to hang around the Open World Content or Solos but you'll hit a road block due to the Monthly Episode Era but you can still manage.

When it comes to MMOs, you're gonna have to play well with strangers and sometimes they wont play well but thats human nature. Going into an instance, while maintaining the level of fun expectation, youre in there to beat bosses, get loot, and get out. Thats what the majority of MMO Players go into doing and Fun is always a different answer to everyone. It sounds like that this game isnt going to be your cup of tea and thats fine. Its entertainment and we just try to enjoy it. May you have fortune in whatever other game you decide to play but MMOs certainly dont sound like it'll be wheel house.

dangit people don't comment when I am editing my previous post goddamnit lmao. You should read it I added that point about kicking.

And I actually addressed that most started to ignore the point of the post and focused on the part where I complained about kicking.

So I should play nice but accept others being an ****? How is that logical? Nah bruv. You don't do me well I don't do you well.

Might explain everything I've said and done as human behavior. It's a limp statement.

Thanks for the well wishes. And I genuinly hope you can keep enjoying the game. But any game with humans is not my cup of tea according to a lot of people +).
  8. Rainnifer Committed Player

Unfortunately a situation like yours will end up being a downward spiral. You don't want to play nice because others don't play nice, which in turn causes more to not want to please you based on your behaviors. It's group content and as far as I know it's going to stay that way. You complain about people kicking you and not accepting what you do, which is the same thing when seen the other way because you don't accept what they do either. You're going to have to compromise. As stated, this just might not be the game for you. You can't go on expecting an entire game to change to fit your standards. Right now it's doing its best to find a middle ground to please everyone it can.

All you can really do is find a way to adapt a bit and get the most out of it, because it's not going to be able to cater to only you and all your desires. What would be fair in that?

I've seen a few threads asking if it's possible to solo your way through this game, yes it is at the cost of not being able to play most content though. There are plenty of solo missions out there, just stick to those because the entire game isn't going to be solo. It's an MMO. Sorry
  9. OldCunning New Player

if you can't solo your way through the whole game it's not soloable. And to many people seem to ignore how many more people might pay and stay around if not for that forced teamplay. Unreasonable surprise kicks without explanations. Sure I'm being an ***, partly for the hell of it. I actually kind of prefer people to be mean spirited since then I know how to deal with them. Somehow I can't trust friendly people I feel like they will stab me when I turn around. Best is just be completely blunt and to the point. Anything insulting might make me playful

Not sure who it was but that guy that mentioned making your alts available as npc's for instances had a good idea that might even be profitable to daybreak too. Cuz who wouldn't expand their list of npc''s and go altoholic and have actual use for those alts besides being benched until you decide to play them again.

And the lack of social control in the game, removing the kick option will force everyone to learn to cope. And players that are real annoyances and trolls/grievers should be banned completely. Since ruining anothers fun should never be rewarded.

Plenty of people want to play mmo's to be among people. Not necessarily to play with them. Can't really hang around with npc's in oblivion. I tried. I end up killing them because I get bored.

Why have you guys so much against soloability of a game. Are so many of you worried that given the choice people rather not deal with you? It's not as if making it soloable means getting rid of teams. Those that prefer to rush through things or play with groups will always group up. But without the annoyance of people like me who'll do their thing and forget that the group is always in a hurry..

Because it's a game mechanic and other people do it. Doesn't mean I just have to shut up and accept it. Making the issue an annoyance to others is just as legit a move. It just upsets those that don't like the possibility of change into it. I mean how are you going to be te overambitious toxic guild if everyone can solo the raids if they want?

Sure EVE-online will allow a lot and there is some real in game elitism between factions and everything, but at least players. Players that can be a dictator because the game is too difficuilt or dangerous to tackle on your own.

That game would collapse if everyone could do everything solo.

This game is a different beast. It would not just fail. It's a theme where a lot of people feel drawn to. A lot of people would love to play the hero or a villain. But how many of those work in teams on a regular basis? How many of those teams actually function well? On the villains side almost never. Unless plot dictates it before they get their ***** whooped.

Hell if marketing and development would get together they could maybe even with the help of DC comics organize tournaments for teams and solo's and have a special comic issue with your hero made.

Imagine the amount of players that would want to play? Competetive play could still be a thing.

    There are always options.
  10. Rainnifer Committed Player

I've always been more of a lonewolf, I preferred to play things alone as I was worried about being a hindrance or something. I avoided games that were all about team play etc, but this game caught my attention due to how you can customize your character. I knew this game was certainly not a solo game, and there were team missions where you had to learn your roles and actually do things to help the team. Rather than continuing to avoid it and only play half the game I decided to actually go with it, learned what I had to do, and now I've learned how to do what I want while not being a hindrance. I even take part in these forums now which is something I didn't really expect I'd do.

Of course there were undesirable people along the way and there still are. I've been kicked from instances for reasons unknown to me, been told I couldn't handle what was to come, had even worse situations that almost had me quit, but you just have to learn how to deal with it. I'm not against a solo game, I just don't really expect such a game like this to change the whole way it works, especially considering the small team behind it. It would take a lot of work to change everything.
  11. OldCunning New Player

I don't have to learn to deal with it, I can try and struggle to change the things I don't like. Your way might be much less conflict heavy. But be honest it's also kind of boring. I don't mind being a hindrance since almost everyone acts like one for me. And that's a reality I've had to live with my whole life. I don't do groups, parties, events, teamsports, etc.

However I do like being amongst other people, maybe banter with them. But almost never work with them. So for sports since I like to be among people but hate team sports because everyone blames everyone. I did martial arts. Where if I ****** up I got hit. So you learn how not to get hit and hit the other to make him/her stop;.

It's a fact I don't dance to the same drumbeat most others dance to. I don't just accept things because they are like they are, I never accepted the reason. "It's what we/everyone/the game have/has always done" Doesn't mean it should keep doing that. Or that there aren't more interesting business models that could increase profit and fun in game.

Also gamers that just accept things as is constantly will get milked by a company that will lay off personnel to save a buck, then keep charging you without proper developments and improvements to the game. Most look at the cash shop. Or how to make a quick buck out of those that are here.
  12. OldCunning New Player

Granted my ideas aren't revolutionary. But with a bigger playerbase, because I know more people will keep playing if they can solo everything when they don't want to deal with others. Or those that are too scared to get negative feedback and thus never start really playing. Those could play everyhting get to know everything and then start interacting when they feel they know enough. Without the ridiculous need to bend the knee to keep some people happy so you can learn.

And with a bigger player base more money could be generated to improve the game more.
Or you know just hope the whales that have been funding ya, keep funding ya because suddenly not playing/paying would feel like a giant waste of their "investment".

Give me one real good logical reason why soloability shouldn't be a focus for the devs and daybreak as a whole?

And not in the vein of "it's an mmo it's implied" Because honestly even the massive part is wrong. It's an MO at this point. Multiplayer online. In other words it tells you others are online with you in that world. Nowhere does the definition state that it's forced teamplay.
  13. Rainnifer Committed Player

It's true I don't like conflicts, but I don't find it boring. I tell everyone I'm never bored, cause it's true, as long as I'm doing anything at all or talking with someone. I too don't like doing events or parties or whatever either, I guess where we differ is the way we see ourselves. I'm the type to put myself below everyone else, I guess that's why I don't often try to change things just because I don't like it. I love talking to people though it's not often most days, and I make it their choice if they want to work with me or not. I do what I can to please the others and not myself, which is a curse most times but I try to manage.

I guess with this situation I was hoping to calm the conflict down. I don't find it too fair to blame everyone else for what goes on, especially if you're entering a completely different zone from what you want. It's not a bad thing to ask for change but you can't hate the others for wanting to play how the game was intended. Maybe you can let the others know that you are in the mission to explore and search for things, maybe they'd help you?

I understand your last paragraph, I've kind of made the choice myself that I didn't want to keep supporting the game until I can see some actual good change. These recent weeks have been a nice gift though, I hope they can go further to make everything a better experience.

And well, it's definitely forced teamplay in the missions that are alerts and raids etc, as you may not be able to pass those without actual team play. The whole game being made soloable would just be really hard to implement considering how alerts and raids work and the different roles (healer, tank, controller) if it was solo play, those would essentially become useless and a waste of investment for the devs to work on. Many current things would become void and worthless to have, and the entire game would change. It's almost like making a whole new game, I just don't see that ever happening.
  14. OldCunning New Player

Oh when I was a younger autist and still believed in the basic goodness of humanity and that one good turn would get another, But got ****** over a couple of times, been betrayed and all I ever try to do was my best to make everyone happy with what is. Tried it for a long time as an adult as well. Now I'm just to tired. Noticed how selfish almost everyone is. So I started to enjoy picking fights with certain types of people.

And as you'll notice people that act more humble, submissive get a much different treatment than those that try to tell me how I should act. Thing is I know that when I decide to do something, produce something I always perform very well. If given responsibility and freedom at a job I will always perform to my best. Give me someone who thinks just because they have supervisor or manager in their title that I should just do what they tell me. Then they are almost always very surprised when I don't and follow it up by chewing them out.

At one point I even got send home because they got intimidated by my anger. Company that hired my temp *** wanted me back after cooling down for a day. Temp agency didn't appreciate me not bending knees. What if I gave other temps an idea lmao.

After that it just started being fun. And after being homeless I really didn't care for what others thought I already have been to the bottom. So much more willing to be my unique brand of pain in the ***.

I hope they might improve the game. But aren't the devs mostly USA based? Do we have euro devs? Gotta admit kinda excited and anxious about all the disasters that seem to loom over the world now. Tried playing the game to get my mind of it. Got annoyed by an unexplained and unannounced kick. Immedeatly quit the game, came here to ***** about it. See what the community is like. Seems most can be communicated with. One or two who would really not get along with me irl.

Having more fun on the forum than in game to be honest.

I am not a coder or a game developer. But wouldn't it be much easier instead of recreating the dungeon areas and such that they give you some heroes or villains mcguffin that empowers you enough to be able to solo everything if you have the skill to pull it off.
Then they just need to add one player options to all instances, alerts, raids even maybe. Although raids are kind of a special beast compared to dungeons and alerts. There should be some coding solutions that don't need the whole game to be reprogrammed.
