Wow, as your tank too, dang! Do you play at weird times? I literally queued and it popped before I could equip my nth metal detector, both times I queued tank yesterday. It was during the afternoon on a weekend, though, so maybe it was just a really lucky couple of pops? Hopefully they speed up for you!

I guess the point is, I don’t want to oneshot anything. I just want clamped instances to be more forgiving than when they were endgame.

I guess I do, because of timezones.

Building a group for the alert seems to be the way to go. The raid pops quick because there's always a failed run out there for you to backfill, although groups go there too. PZr seems to be doable by most groups, so a queue pop will only happen with 4 readying up. Not sure if it's using role requirements or not...most random groups I've hit have a heal, but I'm not sure if it's 'required' by matchmaking post update.

It was kind of the same for RWR last ep...LFG groups were easy to build, random queue...not as much.

Certainly a fair opinion. And as I said, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to feel, play, or spend. I hope things settle into a fun "sweet spot" for you.

See that's a loaded question. Just because someone dislikes the update changes, it does not mean they miss 'one shotting' something. While I did enjoy doing a speed run of whatever, or being able to walk in solo and take out Nexus or Gates or whatever, the fact that the new changes are FORCING us to run clamped in old content is the bigger issue, not the clamp itself.

Before the update running old stuff was optional, and when you went in there you went in for a purpose and on purpose. You'd select a particular run probably for a particular thing (I suppose some people did just select all missions...I'd guess they were the exception). Get quick rare drops, quickly help with a feat, some self-challenge....whatever. Farming runs are obviously impacted...as now there is no 'quick' farming runs like ZOOE or PANE. But other stuff like getting certain feats are now also no longer a given, so many can pretty much kiss those goodbye. Those former reasons are all removed now and the primary reason I run anything old is via Omni is in the HOPE it will count towards the daily/weekly Omni mission so I don't have to do another one. Would it be better if I could still smash my way through an old run? Yes, of course it would. Would I be happier to leave you all to the clamp and just avoid it for 'current' content? Also yes.

I haven't seen one shout in LFG for an old 'feat' or farming group run since the update. I have seen FOS3 farming though....and bounty farming. So marks....yeah, the marks.....soooooo many marks to farm. What about when people have enough marks? If you have 10K marks, are you going to want to run ZooE or PanE for 20-40 min for a 1 in 1000 chance of that rare drop...or maybe just a big fail? Are you going to want to help trudge to the end of Bombshell to help someone with 'no more no less'? Remember...it's a 1st attempt, so a fail means re-running the previous 20-30 min of endless hallway adds again. Personally I don't have the time to...and likely won't.

That was the entire point of my thread, time. I could care less about one-shotting (which is highly overblown). You are doing what I and I am sure others are doing, get my Omnibus done and move on. Your point about LFG is spot on. Mine moves much slower and all I see are FOS3 and bounty spam groups, with an occasional FOS2. No feat runs. Which is surprising since this update is beloved and the forum loves to use facts. How I feel now is that I have 1 character, don’t want to repeat with alts. My routine is now FP, science spire, Omnibus solo, PZ and done. I will probably farm solos for weapon styles, but that is about it. My son has played with me from the beginning. He was playing another game with a friend online last night. After he said “usually when I am playing other games, I keep thinking about what I am missing on DC. I didn’t feel that way tonight.” I have lost all interest in feats or building arts.I

I started this thread because I have loved this game and have been dedicated to this game from the beginning. Just because I am not a regular poster, doesn’t mean I am not. I am not a league guy, my son and I have our own with our alts. I don’t need lessons on mechanics or building a group (which of course I have gotte since the post). I turned off auto renew yesterday. I don’t see the point in paying. I will play premium now and do the things I stated above. I know it’s all about the new players, but I haven’t seen businesses kick loyal paying customers to the curb before. I know the clamp champs will chime in, but i don’t care. I have just as much a right to speak my mind as they do theirs. I get their points, but their has to be a better compromise. Thanks for reading.

    This is kinda funny.

The whole point of these changes was to force everyone into using the Queue system so that players could find groups with it and feel like they always had people to play with. If everyone uses LFG instead, it defeats the purpose of pushing players into the Queue. Players will be using premade groups instead and they still won't be able to queue into things.

I'm F1, Omnibus duo, Legion missions (841 splintered coins, will be able to convert to source marks in Nov/next dlc. right?). shout something attempting to be funny and exit. /shout I saved the Universe and I get a Soder Cola?!

Did a Bounty run with a group thurdsay night. Seems this'll be a once-a-week-use-game.

    well, daily F1. [IMG]

And I never said it did. There are a number of people who have said they miss the ability to one-shot, and be super OP. I am wondering -- for those people -- what do they miss. If you don't miss that, then cool. I'm not presuming anyone's playstyle, which is why I have repeatedly stated here that I'm not trying to tell anyone how to feel, play or spend.

I'm not telling anyone to like or dislike anything. I'd say everyone should try it out and see how it feels for them, then form their own opinion. That opinion isn't going to be right or wrong. I'm just asking the specific sub-set of people who miss the feeling of being much higher than content, what exactly they miss about it.

I'm getting from the OP, that they miss being able to play more alts and complete more personally rewarding content in less time. I'm hearing from 9001bpm that they miss the ability to return to old instances somewhat overgeared, but not drastically so. I'm not claiming that either one of them, or anyone else, misses one-shotting. I'm hoping to also hear from some people that do miss one-shotting.

I'm going to say that I feel your pain. As someone who has played since launch, and has about 4k hours a year on the game, I get all aspects of where you are coming from. My frustration is that I liked DCUO how it was to begin with. There have now been at least three times in the history of this game that it has been totally revamped in the name of helping new players tier up without OP old players beasting it for them. In every scenario, the powers that be eventually see that things aren't working, and revert back to some form of the old gameplay, and each time, it becomes a little easier. What I'm getting at, is that I'm getting tired of adapting to something that keeps becoming a more and more perverted version of it's original, fantastic self. The styles, and art in this game have become unmatched. Everything about this game is amazing, but the constant search for balance, where there can be none, is frustrating to the point that sometimes I just have to walk away. The best thing to do would be split up the q, or give players the option to go into clamped or unclamped versions of the instances. But the real truth is that if the gameplay mechanics were never changed from their original version, we wouldn't have any of these problems. You couldn't beast anything back then unless you really knew and studied your powers. There were no 1,2,3,4 button rotations, and you needed roles because DPSing was an art that not everyone could master, so again, no beasting through missions. My frustration is that the answer was, to not eff with a good thing to begin with. End rant.

Just a fly by reply about the one shotting. Think of it like, you have a crappy little 4 cylinder car. You rebuild the engine over a few (11) years, and now it's more like a lambo. Sometimes, not always, but sometimes, you want to take that lambo out and burn the tires off her. After grinding end game, and getting to a point, it is fun to take out the hot rod and feel the power. Then, go back to the grind.

It works fine for getting source....if that's what you are into. Or knocking out 'count' or 'random list' feats, as it does help with the getting in part. Example, if you need the 'Pinned up' feat in Bombshell, where you escort one of the 4 iconics through to the end, it might take 10-20 tries to get all 4 depending on luck. Admittedly even before the change, that would be tough to do unless you had a patient group of friends to queue and re-queue to get all 4. Now in theory, you could queue on-duty for Bombshell and grab up 7 other people off omni who will enter(Tried this for LnW the other day....20 min, did NOT get in because people kept dropping out of queue). Now....this will NOT count towards your weekly Omni raids...which is a hassle...and you'll likely have 8-10 team member changes as people queue in, realized it's bombshell, and walk out in favor of a shorter run.

And of course, you need to complete it those times you actually DO get the right iconic...that's maybe a challenge in itself.

But good luck getting the feat to not get hit by the bombs...or 'no more no less' via random queue. LFG only for that kind of stuff, just like before.

Fair. And to be honest, I do miss the one shots too (although their rumored existence in anything later than BD or so is greatly exaggerated). When I wanted to get in and out of anything, of course doing it quick is better. But I'd trade it off with the idea clamping is good for some of the game as long as I had an option not to participate against my will.

Ah opening up on the race track, ok, I can understand that. Thanks! Do you also enjoy the current stuff?

Side note: Intergang Crime Wave might be a good one for you to play when you want a bit of that. The initial open world part is at full CR with low enemies, and you feel godlike. Then you go into the actual alert and it's back to a normal and pretty quick alert.

Yes, telling people they have to do something has never been as well-received as telling people that they can do something.

Totally off-track, but I actually did Bombshell on Friday, and when we reached that boss I said "stand by door on right for feat" and to my absolute shock, they did it!! I was sure they wouldn't, but sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised.

Yes, mostly my experience so far - groups willing to work together. There’s the occasional ‘rogue’ with a holier-than-thou attitude, but so far that’s been the exception.

You got lucky, but I suppose that will happen too. I've tried a few times to say something for easy feats, and been ignored.

One thing that happened last night was in my BIA run we ended up in the tunnel fighting WW iconic and another group came in (haven't seen that in years), so I told my team to hang for a few min and we'd get a 2nd iconic likely. They left through the tunnel. Now as both of them (we only had 3 as people kept leaving when opened so we stopped opening it) got the feat for killing both side sub-bosses in CC, I'd guess they needed the iconics list too. I was in the tunnel alone when Cap Cold showed....died miserably solo. I have the feat, so no big for me, but they missed the opportunity.

Of course then we found out that Lex is bugged in Alt Metro and disbanded anyway, but hey....that's another problem.

I absolutely got lucky, like I said, I was sure they wouldn't do it, but then ...

    Oh those tunnels, memories.

So after getting nerfed, can we now go back to implement gu47 properties so we can be as damaging as our toons would be before clamped. Having 100k might and then only having 1/100th of it is a slap in the bal..face. something painful. I think the devs got the update reversed as it should be the enemies that get clamped while the players get buffed. Its like a 1st day programmer did a transposition and polarized the stats reversely.

and a good group does help out, doesn't solve all the problems, but does help.;)
