This is actually a regular occurrence and has been going on for as long as I can remember. When firing up the LaunchPad I get the error below. Usually I simply run the EXE but if the client no longer matches the server it will not run. What is the solution? Thanks "LaunchPad was unable to connect. Please check the network connection or try again later. ..... (4-503)"
Try to re-install the game from scratch. It may help in case your current game installation is several years old.
Installation is maybe a year old, after a new disk was installed. Usually it takes a few goes and then works. But this has been a regular ongoing issue for a number of years. I will try an install on top and then a reinstall but it should not need it. Thanks
This has been an ongoing issue for you (and many many others) both before and after a fresh install, another re-install is unlikely to fix it, and might actually make it worse. The launchpad has been flaky since before it took on it's final (current) form. You're doing the only thing I've ever seen confirmed to work: Just keep trying until it connects. It's something going wonky with the launchpad itself, not your game install.
ive have had this problem what worked for me was to delete the LauchPad application from my eq2 folder, i downloaded the eq2 installer from the main page then ran it, and selected Reinstall/Repair option. once it was done *took about 30seconds* the launcher loaded right up and i was prompted to change my password lol. hopefully this help.
I installed everquest 2 and every time I hit play it would crash to desktop. I finally figured it out I tried installing directx 9 like most post said and it did nothing but I found a post that talked about sound software and I had running on my taskbar Sonic Studio 3 when I closed this program everquest 2 would launch and run perfectly.
This error comes and goes for me and has done for years now. Normally it's just a premature timeout warning and if I just let the launcher sit there for a few minutes it connects in fine. It's been doing it to me quite a lot in the last couple of weeks so I'd recommend just waiting a bit in the first instance before you start deleting and re-installing things. If it still doesn't budge after a while then you can start messing with stuff
Going on for years, and an issue with the Daybreak servers. Completely reinstalling the game, or moving potted plants (http://archive.is/AHUmp), will not fix a Daybreak (previously SOE) server issue. Please check the network connection&o=date This is typically a problem with the Daybreak servers. Not a player's computer/client. This usually happens with a new release or special event happens, like today's July XP and coin event. Everyone wants in ... Now. Following this advice, doing a complete "re-install the game from scratch," which even this individual doesn't do, will WIPE all your game preferences, character UIs, and text logs. In short If anyone feels the need to refresh their EQ2, do this instead (http://archive.is/LB9Sb): The difference between refresh (good) and re-install (bad). Yes, this is "wordy." But it beats "Google it" any day.
