What's the future for Planetside 2?

    I haven't posted anything for some time because I have nothing to say. I'm like speechless on these recent creations.....So the devs are pretty much showing that all that hard work put into Sanctuary and remaking of Esamir was all done just for some crap campaign. Like I'm sorry but the campaign is so boring. Inspect this, that, obtain some data like as if I'm a scientist. I'm a soldier btw, I want to fight, strategize. It's annoying to finish each mission, not to mention that the enemies can camp and defend them, very unfun to deal with, not like I want to get the campaign over with asap.

    Construction is still unplayable. STOP with the filthy open lattice bases for construction/vehicles. It never worked from the beginning, and doesn't work now. The Router is absolutely annoying to use and deal with. Infantry vs tank combat is hideous, tank vs tank combat is terrible, air combat is terrible, etc.
    Lattice links I believe need a redesign. It favors zergs with little ways to counter it.
    ...And so on. Dozens of problems and honestly almost every single issue could have been fixed a long time ago if the game designers got their heads on straight.

    I also noticed some imbalance in the 3 factions. I may not be correct but my story is that a leader that I'm loyal to went to play other factions. So, I mained the Vanu Sovereignty for some time and noticed that this is one hell of a biased faction. Every single weapon of theirs is a better version of TR weapons. The faction is really OP if you are experienced and also have good hardware.

    It is true that the majority of new players join either NC or TR. VS is a very uninteresting faction, too much fiction. IRL there are just 2 sides, there isn't a one in-between. So as I said before the newcomers are more tempted to join NC or TR.

    NC equipment is pretty childlike, most of it resembles nerf gun equipment so NC attracts more kids. TR visually looks more realistic so it attracts more young adults.
    TR, whose strength is supposed to be unity is absolutely divided into communist, socialist outfits, fascist outfits and nation state outfits....with very little to none cooperation and coordination. So pretty much TR is fighting itself.

    NC has very little reason to fight VS, TR is their real enemy, the faction who is against their ideologies, who they forcefully split from in the lore.
    The entire NC pop is focused on TR in game lol. Basically almost always the majority of the population is fighting on the TR - NC front. These lattice links cause some clusterfuk and laggy battles.
    VS is the type of faction with always lower pop, new players don't join them. VS turns out to be the faction where experienced players move to because of many reasons: from their powerful weaponry and or the frustration in the individuals on their previous factions because of the lack of coordination.

    I believe Planetside 2 is in a ****fest state. Currently it's in a very odd spot. What future does it hold?

    Speaking about situation @Miller server:
    What I agree with: "the lack of coordination" in NC and TR platoons. I play all 3 factions and in general TR and NC platoons run just "follow the waypoints". No or rare Voice coordination, no or rare tactical squads. Only BRTD, FU, BHO, TATF leaders are trying to be DIG-like, but their level of coordination is lower.
    For example if there is NC or TR Bastion flying, 99% you'll see the DIG airball. If one of the outfit leaders is online he WILL gather "ALL diglets" to destroy enemy Bastion.
    From time to time I have an access to a command channel. I hear how VS platoons are coordinated, for example DIG and KOTV can combine their efforts for 7-10 min to kick enemies from the key base and cut off the whole region.
    I rarely see special ops ASPonly NC and TR tactical squads doing some tasks to let the main zerg unstoptable. But VS DIG does it almost every night.
    I repeat: I play for all 3 factions.

    But !! At the same time NC has the strongest and the best coordinated air dedicated outfits.

    Some words about future: I think the future is in combined arms :)
    Below are the details I want to be addressed:
    Why if I spot an enemy I cant make its position visible on minimap for ALL friendlies in the same region ?
    Why I can't set waypoints in 3d on the map ? I can only set the color smoke, but can't set the path in 3d for the squad.
    Why vehicles become abandoned near the base wall and all the capture/defend actions are infantry only ?
    Why I always have to wait 10-20 sec to respawn at the same base ? Why there are so few respawns? Why I can place only one beacon per squad ?
    Why I can't deploy to a other squad's Galaxy when we are in the same platoon ?
    All of thiese traits(or their absence) make PS2 more zergish: just get more cannon fodders and you'll win.

    The answer is simple: there's none.

    As of now at least. It's a game with a lot of potential, but it's all in the hands of the devs.

    Well, after the hard right, wtf, that was the shattered warpgate....

    I think we'll see something where infantry run around with no cover. Inside a large round tall map, call it a barrel for ease. You'll be able to buy fish suits using a NEW resource that drops at 1 per year. 4000 for a suit or £63.87

    Above this aircraft will roam, unable to shoot each other cuz why would you want to? NEW directives will include shooting 1 billion fish, collecting fish food that is under the map, travelling to another map that is open only when you're not online, etc.

    High skill stuffs for the get gud crowd to salivate over!
