VS - which weapons to buy today?

853 SC, planning to get a couple weapons but don't know which ones yet. Any recommendations? (750 and 1000 cert weapons only, please.)

well what class do you prefer to play and also what playstyle would you classify yourself?

If you don't have any specific weapons in mind, I'd wait and see what goes on sale for 99 SC. Also, how are we supposed to give recommendations without knowing what you like to play?

Oh, I guess I was just wondering about weapons in general since my class playtimes are pretty balanced as VS. Mostly split between Heavy, Medic, and MAX. A lot of Engie only because of Scything. Barely any LA. A little bit of Infiltrator (my most heavily played class as NC, not so much on VS).

I feel like it's not really viable except for in squad play, and I mostly solo at the moment.

The lasher if you don't already have it. An NS pistol if you don't yet have one, an SMG, second MAX arm of your choice maybe.

Yeah, I'm thinking about the Blueshift, but I already have the Cosmos and Quasar. I know the Blueshift is more accurate than those, but is it really worth it?

LA - the orion is pretty much the best all around weapon so no need to buy anything but if your cash is burning a hole in your pocket get the sv-88

Medic - its a big toss-up here depending if you like high fire rate weapons...if yes get the hv-45...if not i tend to use the NS-11 weapon for the medic

MAX - blueshifts for infantry (most accurate of the max weapons make headshots easier so i use those) AV - i like the vortex' butsome people prefer the comets

Blueshift is the best AI MAX weapon in the game overall, only really beaten by the scattershot and mutilator at really close range.

Forget about MAX on that much SC. You need at least 1400 to purchase the decent AI arms (Blueshifts and Nebulae)

CME is a crappy NS-11A, get literally anything else over CME.

For HA that leaves Ursa, Lasher and Lancer.

Ursa is rather overspecialised and it takes a special (read: insane) ADS twitch aim to make it work at any range shorter than ~30m where everything fires faster than you do.

Lasher is just not good enough to justify a full price purchase. You wont be using it most of the time and if you are then youll be yearning for a proper LMG much sooner than you would think.

And assuming NS is out of the window in general, that leaves the Lancer. An excellent tool for griefing vehicles at long range and can scare the **** out of a MAX if you can get a full charge on one.

I reccomend Lancer.

I'm kind of conflicted about whether I want to buy the Parallax or not. While I haven't been sniping that much lately, I do have ~600 combined kills with the Bolt Driver/Raijack in the span of about a month.

Also conflicted about the Vandal because I already have the NS7 PDW, Cyclone, and Eridani. I feel like the roles of the Vandal and the SMGs would overlap too much to make the purchase worth it, at least for my playstyle.

well you will need a bolt action as a vs infiltrator and the parallax is the best option so it depends on if you think you will use it...i personally think the vandal is the vs's best option for a semi auto rifle

In all seriousness theres no real reason to upgrade from the XM98 if you want to snipe.

Parallax is just for people who dont do anything but snipe.

Also dont get Phaseshift until SOE fix its identity crisis.

Bear in mind April will see many weapons being rebalanced and changed, so you may want to wait. On the other hand, the Vandal is supposed to be quite good, and I'd imagine NS stuff won't change much.

yeah phaseshift needs some love...i never really tried out the xm98 mainly because for a semi auto rifle it didnt have access to lower powered optics

Those are all good points. The only reason I'm hesitant to get the Lancer is that I'm already so attached to my S1. :0
