Unlocks for all classes?

I'm wondering whether unlocking certain things, such as C4, for one class will unlock it for all classes? I'd hate to have to spend 700 cert points to get C4 on one class and then have to spend it all again.
If it doesn't work for all classes, do the universal utility certs at least unlock for all classes?

Also, if I buy a weapon which can be used by two or more classes and I unlock an attachment (eg suppressor), will that only be unlocked for that class or for any class which uses that weapon?

the ONLY universal certs are medical kits and resto kits.

Buy C4 on your LA, you need to buy again on your Engi or Medic.

Same with weapons, carbines dont transfer certs as neither does vehicle turrets like the default M20 which is on everything pretty much

C4 no idea you may just have to see for your self.
Carbine attachments are shared between Engi and LA so it's safe to assume shotgun attachments are aswell.

I am not sure if it is still true, but Engineers and LA used to share the same weapons, so unlocks were also shared.
And as far as I recall, shotguns work the same way.

Damn, it looks like I'm really going to have to specialise, then. I was hoping that unlocking C4 (it took me like 10 hours of gameplay to get the 200 cert for it) would let me use it on all classes.

It's a shame that there aren't simple sidegrades in this game - most things are straight up upgrades from the default loadout. I would be happy with the prices the way they are now (where every weapon will take me a month of regular gameplay to buy), if only the default loadouts didn't lack so many things. I'm fine with having to grind to get a sidegrade, but when there's an entire slot unfilled (like with C4, or secondaries of ESFs) in the default loadout, it really sucks. I don't want to have to grind for ages just to have the true basic loadout.
