the NS Fury: Buff velocity from 125 m/s to 165 m/s

Currently the NS Fury kills with 2 direct hits (3 with Flak Armor), and with 3 inner splash hits (6 with Flak 5/5). At the moment it competes with the Bulldog as a short range multi-purpose weapon. Currently, the Bulldog is almost universally regarded as the better weapon, due to its better scaling with certs (+4 mag size on both), superior splash damage, and ability to OHK a non-Flak target with a direct hit despite having the same projectile speed.

While the Bulldog is receiving nerfs to its splash, on the PTS, I would like to see a greater differentiation with the two weapons. Currently, they both have the same projectile velocity, 125 m/s. I would suggest increasing the Fury's velocity but still have it slightly inferior to HE shells (175 m/s), and significantly inferior to the C75 Viper (200 m/s). This would serve to specialise the Fury as a longer range weapon than the Bulldog, and emphasise the Fury's focus on direct hits, rather than splash damage.

I always thought the bulldog was the long ranged option of the two!

They have the same projectile speed (125 m/s), though the bulldog is arguably a more effective long range weapon against infantry due to only needing to land one hit to kill an infantry player who does not have Flak 4 or 5 equipped, and the extra splash making it a more forgiving weapon.

Currently an upgraded Fury has far lower damage per magazine than an upgraded Bulldog, and even with the proposed nerfs to splash, it will still be the clearly superior weapon. The Fury is in a situation where the stock weapon (Basilisk) is not only superior against air amd vehicles, but also probably superior against infantry due to the Furies poor effective range. I would not suggest reverting its splash nerfs, or giving it back OHK on direct hits, but it should get something.

The Bulldog is one of the only weapons in this game that is ABSOLUTELY FINE as it is!

So wrong about the bulldog nerf. If anything do buff Fury AV potential and remove its splash a bit more velocity makes sense too.
Bulldogs could use some AV nerf but keep them as they are vs infantry.
Even now basilisk is better then both.

For a start I agree with your suggestion, but my thought is that the fury is a short range killing weapon, and the bulldog a long range suppression one.
I didn't hear before about a bulldog nerf, but that was logical: Dalton and zepher have been nerfed, time to nerf the bulldog!

Me and my outfit run Sunderer's with 3/3 Racer, 4/4 Blockade, 4/4 Fire Suppression, 2x Bulldog with Thermal and 4/4 Mag Size. The damage output of two Bulldogs is pretty scary at close range, and the splash will kill large groups rapidly. Since the introduction of implants, if the driver uses EOD HUD III, the one big danger to a blockade sundy (tank mines) can be countered.

While I would like to keep this thread about the Fury, if I was SOE, the "nerf" to the Bulldog I would make, is removing (and refunding) the "Magazine Size" certification. So that it nerfs low BR players less than high BR players.

You just copied of the glorious loadouts of the FFS pros you have to deal with on a regular basis......... only jest dude!

Exactly how my Sundy is set up. This is also the exact reason the Bulldogs are fine as they are. Yes they are devistating (only in skilled hands) but you have to get close to your target and put yourself at risk in order to utilise it to its most lethal potential.

So yes its lethal in the correct hands but that is balanced by how much danger you have to put yourself in to utilise them correctly.

Where is my old 750/500 damage fury? :(
  11. Sagabyte

    I read that as "750,500".

    o_O
  12. Pikachu

    750 direct
    500 indirect
  13. Sagabyte

Should be 500/334. 2 shots with 1 direct hit, 3 shots with no direct hits.
  14. Pikachu

Why you no like old damage? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

sorry bulldog lovers but as it stands the bulldog is just too powerful with its 1 hit capabilities and high mag count, its replaced the fury in all regards and also doubles as way too powerful a tail and side guns for aircraft.

should take 2 shots to kill infantry, not 1.
