Synergy between lock-ons and Harassers

From what I've seen, if it moves, don't shoot from the side - the thing will likely miss otherwise even if it is a big and slow sunderer.
  2. Ganelon

Really? Most of my Harasser kills were with the Decimator.

I find that the Striker only really works when you're defending a base with good elevation (e.g. Howling pass and Quartz Ridge). It really shines there, but otherwise I default to my Decimator because of its superior utility.

thats odd tough because whenever we drive our vulcan harasser AP Magrider with sarons are a problem or instant death depending on skill of driver&gunner
  4. Goretzu

No what you really don't want to use against a decent Harrasser drive is a Pheonix. :)
  5. Linus

Well the harasser's survivability depends on the skill of the driver&gunner too. If not at very close range, I find it not hard to avoid most of the saron's shots. The harasser is small and very fast after all. However the FPC hurts a lot, that is true, but the Mag driver have to hits many times successfully.
  6. Goretzu

The best tactic is probably massed gunfire.

Not true, the Saron and the Enforcers are extremely good against harassers. The enforcer + vanguard AP is prolly the most deadliest combo I have faced... The Saron + Magrider 2nd..
Then the vulcan last of those 3. When I use the vulcan on the prowler, I can kill the harassers, but IMO, it's easier with the Saron.

Using the strikers, I almost never miss a single rocket against an enemy harasser. It just doesn't miss.
Using my harasser on the TR, I never ever felt the need for any smoke. With my VS character, my brother feels that the smoke is really useful, especially against the TR. Since, the Striker is the most deadliest anti harasser weapon there is. It's what pisses us off the most. I can hit harassers with my lock ons, but, it's not even close as with the striker.

I will say, if I had a 2ndary gunner on my tanks...(Mag/Prowler), any single harasser cannot kill us. I do not feel that I am lucky to kill one. To me, it's easier as the driver to kill the harasser with my magrider than with the prowler, especially if I am moving. It's because the aim doesn't bounce around. The velocity may be slow, but it's not hard to hit predicting where they will be. However, while I drive my harasser, nearly everyone misses me. That's the only way I live, I need their misses. If they don't miss, I die. Luckily for me, player's aim and leading is not good. The NC Vanguard drivers on Materson is 4x better than the NC Waterson vanguard drivers. Weird.

To add, the Strikers don't go through stuff, they go around, which has been stated a couple times in this thread. At least, that is what I am seeing.
The Lancer is also amazing against the harassers, along with the vortex MAX...
Yes, alone, they're not going to kill you, 1v1.. But, this isn't a 1v1, it's team based. Like a single striker isn't going to kill a good harasser driver. But a couple will... A couple Lancers will keep em away, a couple Vortex Max will too.

The NC seems more limited in dealing with harassers.

And does piss for damage, which will be repaired on the move before you've reloaded.

Since there are alot of places to break the line of sight, i barely can even lock on to harassers with the striker, and MAYBE get 1-3 lucky rockets. This is when the driver isnt ********.

Best counter to harassers are Max'es fractures, Comets (the best with op zoe), and ravens.

I agree with you to say that the striker is the most handy weapon against not only the harasser but most of the vehicles / aircraft.
3 TR HA with strikers can deal a massive amount of damage from very far and no vehicles will have the time to repair even when trying to cover.

About enforcer /saron / vulcan against harassers, I think it depends on the different players abilities. We still find the vulcan more effective to get rid of those fast ennemies, very quickly. However the Saron is always our favorite one for any other targets.
  11. Goretzu

    Ravens need LOS (mostly).
  12. TeknoBug

Striker > all other lockons. And yeah Vulcan does a decent job of it. It's not much fun hitting a Harasser with a Lancer, either you tickle it by single shots or you have a high chance of missing it with 3 charge shots.

Small arms got a boost in damage against Harassers, a HA LMG should be able to blow it up in a single magazine now if all bulelts hit.
  13. Goretzu

Without composite? Surely not with composite?
  14. Purg

For MAX, Fractures and Vortex - not Ravens. Harassers can outrun Ravens and if they're going anywhere but straight towards you, good luck trying to guide Ravens into them.

If you can do so, please post video of yourself doing it. Being half decent with Ravens on my main, I'd love to see someone being able to consistently hit moving Harassers with Ravens.

    Don't forget MBTs too.
Or any vehicle in the game

You can't defend against the Striker.
    You can't defend THE STRIKER.

    It's the superior lock-on, period.
  16. Vixxing

T-rex used small arms and they are extinct...

As far as empire specific secondaries, from what I've seen the Saron is probably the best anti-Haraser ES gun on an MBT, while the Vulcan is the best when you're in a Harasser too. The Enforcer is kind of in-between on both, but for the most part is pretty much equivalent to a Saron.

I never have any trouble hitting non-Harasser vehicles with the Crow though, I even use it to pick off Flashes. Maybe the Hades' tracking is somehow even worse?

Harassers are too freaking fast. Especially when the only decent counter to them works because it is bugged.

Being an AT specialist, I play VS a lot, their lock on rocket equivalents are very slow with short range, the Harrasser is usually behind a hill by the time it locks on. The shooter must be quite elevated to maintain LOS on target until it locks.

I've stated before "The ironic thing about lock ons is, if the target is within 300m, I dont need a lock on" :D
Dumbfires and waiting for them to be closer is usually more effective for me on my VS.

The Striker on the other hand, that I purchased on sale, is a different world. Sooooo easy, so quick to lock on. I"m not asking for nerfs, i just wish the other factions locked on as fast.

Also , recently purchased the Decimator and don't like it at all. Lock on time is WAY too long, and just gets you killed being exposed.

NOTE: With GU13 changes to Esamir, with all the new obstructions, hills, buildings, walls, trees, lock ons have effectively been nerfed, because LOS cannot be maintained long enough for a lock reliably.

Harassers are definitely a bigger problem for NC - both because of the weapons on the harassers AND the weapons NC has to deal with them.
