phoenix useless weapon?

You dont HAVE to stand still you can fire it from Flashes/Valkyrias/Harassers and its punch is just fine...

Fire it in a Valk and you might as well just shoot yourself in the foot

This is more of a work around that requires quite a bit of effort than something to really say you can be mobile using the phoenix, lol. But you could easily do the same thing with the lancer, really just leaving the striker as the only one that can't really take advantage of this.

That is if u fire in in a Valk moving forward... Valks are very, very agile, a good pilot can use a Valk like a pirate ship with broadside cannons

Well a Lancer takes 3 seconds to charge, need a direct line of fire and are harder to hit with while moving due to chargeup-mechanics

The lower damage, range, and slow speed/controls are a perfectly reasonable trade off for being able to shoot without exposing yourself. if anything need's to be changed or fixed, it's the fact that it is the ONLY weapon in the game that ACTUALLY FORCES the user to stand. As lots of other people in this thread have mentioned, using a Phoenix already makes you sniper bait. But not being able to crouch for cover severely limits the already low number of safe-ish firing positions.

It's also pretty stupid that the Phoenix is the ONLY weapon in the game that can be shot down. It seems kinda broken that a single person with an SMG can single handedly shut down 3 or 4 heavys trying to take out a target with Phoenixes. Again, i have no problem with the weapon stats, but it's just silly that no other weapon in the entire game that has these kind of arbitrary and stupid drawbacks.
