So how come they get healed/revived by a medic and not the engineer? I think that not only it would be more logical to have NSO's only get healed/revived by engineers, but it would also add a bit of spice to the engineer game, don't you? You may say "But Maxes are revived by medics not engineers", yes you are right, but a Max is a battle suit worn by an organic being, so it makes sense that it would be rezzed by a medic... NSO's on the other hand are robots in and out, and as such it would great if they depend on engineers and not Medics.
Originally it was planned this way. The reason they did not pull it trough is, it would "change core infantry mechanics only for one faction". Also this would make the NSO medic obsolete, because NSO only squads don't need them.
On a semi-related note MAXes can be repaired by the Triage ability even though it is for "infantry" and its the Medic doing it ofc. Which by the way is probably the best/easiest way to do the Medic missions for healing infantry!
I'd love this too, could make for some interesting tactics, like NSO engineers healing themselves and gaining 500 bonus HP with infinite ammo punisher grenades
