Network Performance Update for DTAG Customers

We are moving forward with a 10GE direct connection to Deutsche Telekom. This should alleviate most network performance issues (high ping, packet loss) for DTAG customers playing on Miller and/or Cobalt.

The agreement will be a three month paid trial, so we would love to get feedback from DTAG customers once the connection goes live.

I will provide a timetable as soon as I have more information.

i dont have any ping issues because i am not a DT customer - but thats definitely goood news ! nice !

On the one hand this deal is awesome for the player base. On the other hand I feel like this is solely caused by the anti competitive behavior of DTAG which would suck if you as company now have to pay because of that.

I'm playing on Miller and since the beginning of the week, I experience ultra high ping (>300) and bad connection during prime time AGAIN. Sucks. I thought you had this figured out. If this persists I'll delete the game and be finally done with it. I really gave it so many chances, but enough is enough I guess. Sort this out FFS.

ISP: 1&1 - which I believe are using DTAG networks themselves.
According to tracert the amsterdam level3 hub seems to be the bottleneck

You could at least try to read the opening post. Daybreak has a deal with DTAG which is not in place yet.

Also it is not Daybreak's fault but your provider's. They deliberately impair your connection because they want to save money and discourage your from causing too much traffic. Ever had problems with YouTube or Twitch buffering? Because it is likely that this also your provider indirectly throttling your connection.

My latency has been between 1 and 2 second the last days

What is "DTAG" ? Is it what I THINK it is??? Germany?!?!!?

What is "10GE". Nobody here has EVER heard that term before, including myself.

R u sure? Maybe u r wrong, maybe Prompt meant some secret NSA abbreviation/code? (kidding).


But srsly, was a slow pipe the issue with us German players? Cause I tend to believe it is GCHQ & NSA checking the ingame data (voice+chat) for criminals, causing 50-150 ms higher ping for us all here... :/

Maybe 10GE won't change anything... Or are you sure it's exactly that, causing high ping, the bottleneck pipe?

Cause, what is it currently from Germany to US, 1 or 0.5 GE or what?

Btw my signature outdated, have an epic best NVidia GPU in the world now, ASUS STRIX DIRECTCU II GTX 960 4GB!!!

The issue with the German players is that the ISP reroutes the traffic via another ISP to save money. Additionally this German ISP doesn't buy enough bandwidth from this third party ISP to ensure that the traffic could actually go through. This causes packet loss and high latency in the evening.
