Wish it were possible to "test" something before you spend your cert points on it... I so wasted 50 cert points on it. Should had gone with a new scope Is there a respec option?
If you get the assault rifle that the infiltrator can use it can be a good quick flanking cloak. Use it to absorb some damage while you get into the enemy line and provide chaotic flanking fire while friendlies move up. However this tactic will only be a kill farming technique without squad coordination.
I haven't tested it since beta but the last time I did the armor cloak started at 6 seconds with 38% damage reduction(rank 1) and can be upgraded to 10 seconds with 48% damage reduction(max rank). Applied over 40 hit points this should give 64.5 effective hit points(61.3% increase) for rank 1, and 76.9 effective hit points(92.3% increse) for max rank. This will let you survive roughly 4 extra body shots at rank 1 and 6 at max rank. It takes alot of certs but it can be well worth it.
