[Madness] Alert Victory Conditions

    So at this point I feel like there is enough community consensus that one warp gate on each continent is the best.

    Why not have that warp gate become awarded to the winner of the Alert and shuffle the other two between the losers?

    This would encourage people NOT to switch to a faction other than their main as they might be able to rest a nice advantage out of a win instead of just some free exp. And due to the nature of populations rising and falling during each part of the day the warpgates in general would be moved around quite a bit more.

    Also in the event of a draw, Warp gates are shuffled.

    Thoughts?

    It would punish underpopulated factions. You would then have the most populated faction in the best warpgate, making it even harder to get anything out of alerts. Although if population imbalances were fixed, it might be a nice reward for the winner.

    But it also draws clearer battle lines if both smaller factions want to press the larger one.

    I think it is a bit early for cont locking, the lattice needs to be sorted first, and some more continents added for better depth. Otherwise it may not be received well by players, especially if the home cont is changing every day.

    How to solve this Warpgate crap... Make the continents triangles. Like this everyone has their corners, everyone happy, no more Warpgate in the middle of the square continent already taking half of it

    The best warp gate should go to the faction with the least population to help them fight

    I think you're specifically talking about the Indar Warp Gate. The problem is the bottle necks at Quartz, Howling Pass, Crown and East Canyon. On top of that, you have the big continent shelf that turns into canyons and a plateau. They act as natural barriers protecting all the land at the north gate.

    Once more continents are introduced, warpgate capturing, and an intercontinental lattice system is developed, just like PS1, the issue of which warpgate is best will not matter, because no one will be assigned to a specific warpgate. This is why home continents and sanctuaries are necessary to these large, asymmetric, map layouts.
