It's worth getting them. A full 30 seconds of drifting time, about 5 seconds to completely recharge

A lot of people don't know about this but you can actually veer way off course after using a jump pad if you use the jetpack while looking down at about a 45 degree angle. For example you can use the jump pad to the east of The Crown to make a big J around the cliff and land right on top of the control point on the bridge. Works great at amp stations too, you can catapult yourself way beyond the walls of the base doing this and since you just used a jump pad you take no fall damage on the landing.

It's a bit tricky to get the angle right, but you'll know when you do.

It doesn't matter where you look on the vertical axis. You have to curve your path so that you point your shoulder in the direction of where you want to turn.
