If the target is unaware of you, sure. Saw plenty of examples of the exact same thing in that video.

But if both people are aware of each other, or if it's a bigger battle where you have groups of players firing across as groups of other players, then cover is just as required in both games.

Using cover so that you can fire but the enemy can barely hit you is arguably more of an advantage in a game with low TTK as their shots would kill you quicker. Blocking a bullet means saving a larger percentage of your life.

    Cover isn't necessary in PS2.

It's like that scene in the movie "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones" where the Republic soldiers were fighting the Separatist droid army. The soldiers weren't running for cover. They were standing out in the open, advancing towards the enemy, with guns blazing.

It's the same thing in PS2.

Er... the ones who are all dying due to a lack of cover?

Sounds like cover would be fairly important to clone troopers too!

Check out the first 4 mins of this (couldn't find one in English...):

Then check out 8:40 - 9:40 to see it done right.

There does seem to be a lot of whine on these forums about scenarios that they should realize has nothing to do with something being OPed but everything to do with the scenario not being in their advantage. Seems like most are dealing with air being Oped which seems more to be confessions of trying to roll around with infantry and armor only and then getting waxed by Air all the while having NO friendly Air on their own side and then concluding that Air must be Oped! Then they are doing this with everything else....I swear based on these forums (hopefully no one thinks they accurately reflect anything) everything is this game is Oped which obviously can't be true!

    Hardly the same thing.

You're comparing a training environment with conveniently placed cover vs. a battle on Geonosis.

  6. Jestunhi

Actually, I didn't compare the videos at all.

In an example where no cover is available then players in either game will have to go without cover (like the video which you provided).

But if cover is there then it gives an advantage in either game.

Not getting shot is an advantage in any FPS.

As for low TTK making cover less important, that would mean it's least important against a sniper (which I think is the opposite of the truth).

EXACTLY, people ***** and whine because there squad/fellow soldiers are to concerned with padding their stats and egos rather then pulling a effective counter against the enemy. Thats why I like rolling with a good outfit, we see enemy air zerg, we roll Scythes/AA Max's and Skyguards = dead air zerg...wait what they do now, roll tanks? Uh Oh we roll Mags and HA's to counter...here comes multiple sunderers, HA's and combined infantry. We react when were in defense, we dictate when were on offense, we overcome and adapt. MOST arm chair warriors on this game do not, they like their class of choice and when they get pwned by air because no one is countering it, it must be OP...no people learn 2 play.

Many people must have been demoted in the Talon company.

Of course you are going to push them back, they chose to roll with planes and planes are food at the moment.

Locked for no longer being constructive.
