We all know when new players join the game and are looking for groups to teach them and learn from them. They look for the outfit list.

First thing they will look for is numbers, how many people are here that I can have access to / play with / have fun experience with.

There lies the problem. The outfits that have the larger numbers but also have the teamwork equivalent of a potato. Outfits that will "lead" 2 platoon of members. But do nothing more then placing waypoints and getting people stuck with endless massive fights that from a new players point of view. Its just an epileptic seizure before they exit the game after dying 30 times when exploring.

In planetside 2 community, while we have toxic and uncooperative people that will just contribute to the trouble, there is also a large number of people that want to help out the new player base. Want to get them to continue playing. Helping them to get over that first step of the learning curve that will hook them on to possibility of things they can do.

    Suggestion : Help channel :

A extra tab that can be opened as optional for people over BR30, but is opened by default for new players. It can be there for new players to ask questions. Get response. It can be faction specific, so to avoid confusion.

    Problem 1 : misuse :
Things like inviting people to squads, platoons, OUTFITS. Getting people to do things they dont intend to do. Random outfit invites etc.

Solution 1: Making all posed texts with a random rumber generator, so instead of names, there are numbers. When someone answers a question they can refer to "@3253 press esc and go to settings, in general you can change X to Y and try that etc."

    Problem 2 : Adds ... everywhere :
While having a system like this would be awesome, it could result in outfits recruitment advertising stuff. or any other kind of new player oriented stuff. Join this or that.

Solution 2 : Punishment system : Right click "Report message", since its a written message that can be analysed much faster by an admin. It would relatively be resolved much faster. Getting banned from the help channel meaning the account cant participate in writing in help channel.

Inspired by "EvE-Online" new player help program.
