Game is not fun to play anylonger for me

I admit it, i log in and play a little bit every day, but not so much as i used to play.
Main reason for me is: The Vanu dominate everything, they win every fight, ist not fun to play against them.
Looking at the Population, ist nearly identical. So i am not crying for nerfs, but seriously something is wrong there.

The other thing for me i heavy assault and maxes as a whole, they simply make any balance beween the classes nonexistant. Again. Why?`What for? Why does a class that should be a designated vehicle specialist need a shield vs infantry? Why does it need a weapon with like doulbe the amount of shots in a Magazine that the other classes have? It just is not balanced at all.
Same for maxes, a vehicle and a max is nothing less than that, has nothing to do indoors. Make maxes real vehicles that battle with vehicles and not "dakka dakka" like no tommorow at infantry spraying absolutly skill less in a random direction.

How about you just fight TR/NC then? There are 3 factions right to let you choose where and who fight...
Also, against Maxes, just start using tank mines.
  3. Ragnarox

So nerf Vanu because they are better organized and have better players?
  4. Yuki10

I never see any advantage for HA regardless if i go against HA or if I run as HA. They always die just as quickly as any other class, even if it is me playing HA.

it's funny but when I joined Planetside 2 back in Feb 2015 I joined the VS without knowing anything about the game, the other factions or anything. About a couple months ago I made characters for the other two factions. At the same time I started playing as a Max which I never did before cuz I was to afraid I guess of what I don't know.

Well now I primarily play as a Max in all three factions. I see and understand the different traits for each character and their weapons and I will have to disagree with your comment saying the Vanu win every battle. It simply isn't true. Frankly I believe VS only win by shear numbers. Their guns are a bit weaker than the other two factions, but they make up with that with accuracy.

For some reason my NC character is a female, which is not really a problem. The only thing I don't like is the fact that her voice pak makes her sound uneducated and trashy, although she'll take down a fleet of incoming airborne like it's nobody's business. And although I love the Max I can't help but crack up at the VS Max's shoes!! I mean what disco era nightmare movie did you get that from.....them some industrious high heeled pedal pumpers for sure!!! lol

I play mostly medic on VS and sometimes on my TR alt and i feel that my main is actually a slightly at disadvantage because of a huge visible backpack, however if i do what i am suppose to do then i have fun no matter if we are winning or not (only except when Cobolt is lagging like hell) .

If i can give you an advice then just chill out and try playing with others, it increase your chance that this f****g HA will focus someone else.

People misunderstand class balance in this game constantly.

It is not, nor should it be, balanced for 1v1 = class balance in any way shape or form, but rather is balanced for Force vs Force.

HA is the front line, bullet sponge, shock troop.

Infils provide both long range firepower as well as cloaking to flank with SMGs
LA has a different flank option in the form of Jetpack
    Medic keeps your push alive
Engineer keeps them from running out of ammo, and adds significnat fire support over watched lanes with turrets, and covers flanks with mines.

MAX is the resource costing force multiplier. It's a mini walking tank, that costs as much as an MBT, but with a fraction of the firepower or armor. They've also added MULTIPLE counters recently to heavily dent their dominance (ATM's and Archer)

A force of infantry should have 50% HA, 30% LA/Infil, 10% Engineer, and 10% Medic... roughly. MAXes pull from mostly HA but full on crashes will also pull from LA/Infil (not really flanking at that point). Engineers and Medics are mandatory.

Also, HA might be the best at individual up front combat...

But Engineer has AI Mana turrets which can mow people down
Medics have the best inf weapon in the game @ mid range and built in regen
LA's & Infils should always be attacking from points of advantage (pick your fights)

So really, they are all just as viable in actual combat, as long as you play right

One thing you have to keep in mind is that the longer you play, the higher your expectations become. It's just a natural human process.

What this means is that each win becomes less satisfying because it's expected, while each loss becomes much more aggravating, even though the amount of wins and losses probably hasn't hanged much over the course of your game play.

This phenomena is endemic in WoT, where matchmaker conspiracy theories abound, when in reality it boils down to nothing more than expectations and hitting the ceiling in regards to what you can actually contribute.

In other words, people will naturally feel like they should win more the longer you play because you're supposedly better, wiser, etc. etc. But, in games like WoT, and even more so here, there's only so much one person can actually do to dictate the outcome. In fact, the larger the battle, the smaller your influence becomes so that natural, but very subjective feeling of "constantly losing" becomes even more pronounced here versus WoT simply because there are a lot more people in most battles, when in fact nothing has probably changed. It was the same when you first started playing.

Strange, for me it was the opposite.
The longer I played the lower my expectations got what SOE/DGB would do next. (Or you could say my expectations that they would **** something up increased I guess)

Gotta say this patch surprised me in a positive way.
Gatekeeper is very good, maybe even too good - I need more time with it to get that and also battles where the enemy ain't outnumbered.
Mjolnir... well I only saw it on Harassers and unlike other people that come to the forums to whine about a shortrange AV weapon I have no trouble taking them down. The couple drive-by shots I took seemed to hurt quite a bit...
And most important of it all: My performance was better than I remember for the whole past year.
People DIED when they took lethal damage, they didn't shoot at me for another second before doing so.
I could see every single enemy around - yesterday I had still MAX units appearing 3 metres in front of me out of thin air.
I actually got GRENADE WARNINGS. I'm actually so used to those things just teleporting in my face that I walked right on top of one wondering what the hell it was. Of course I facepalmed hard when I died....

Regarding Bugs... apparently if you are impatient and hit the "deploy" button several times on an anchor Prowler it gets locked in place permanently. Also disconnects.

It is propably too early to really sing the praise, it could've been just pure luck that gave me a better connection or server priority today. But if this is persistent the good things outweigh the bad ones tenfold.

It is EXTREMELY annoying and hurting my funtimes a lot when I regurlarly feel like my enemies have a 300% - 500% healthboost.
To add insult to injury, if a guy who took half a magazine to the head managed to take me down before he died he usually survived for some reason...

BTW: Did anybody notice those "God beams" that Sites mentioned? :D

tank mines are fun against maxes but very conditional. If you drop them in an area held by your team, chances are they'll be set off by enemy fire or nades, killing your team.

dropping them over a railing or off of a roof into a group of red dots can be fun, also you can drop them in high traffic areas in a base that's about to be taken. my favorite is to slip into a point room that's just been overrun by a max crash and running around dropping them as they try to kill me. I've gotten three max kills and a dozen mixed infantry. of course this doesn't get the point back, as the maxes are simply revived by medics.

this doesn't count their use against armor of course.

Don't let the door hit ya on your way out.

    Enjoy your Hello Kitty.

I was playing with my shadowplay and happen to have a clip dealing with a max. Now if I can remember to use my medkits. But maxes are my favorite targets.

Likely from the various series of the mecha anime Gundam. Look at the Victory Gundam and Unicorn as their images tend to show the feet better.

Bye Bye hope you find a better FPS shooter that can't compare to PS2.

I look at this as first a Population Imbalance issue, and second a VS (or TR/NC) issue.

    Population Balance
DBG needs to put Motivate Population Balance as a top issue on their Roadmap. They need to start the research and changes to get the game so that players are motivated/steered/rewarded for creating and playing in balanced population battles/Continents/etc. If PS2 is a game that is Dev Intended for each Continent to be Population Imbalanced and be dominated by a single Overpop Faction, then they need to state this (and I will find a new game). Otherwise, they need to make Motivate Population Balance a top issue.

The reason why I say it's a VS issue second, is that over the life of PS2 we've seen different Faction be the dominant Overpop or dominant highest power Faction. I expect that there will always be one faction that has an edge on power and population. But I fully agree that the Factions could be much more balanced and (as I stated above) PS2 Design can implement ways to Motivate Population Balance.

I also don't like the current position of HA in PS2. Specifically:
    1) too many people play HA, I want to see more Classes being played
    2) frequency of surprised attacking an HA in CQC and having the HA survive and kill the attacker

I would like to see the Medkits nerfed so they can't be used as a Shield, but only to restore Health when not in Combat. I also wold like to see HA Shield modified: either it slows movement while on, or it's less powerful. I don't mind an HA using the Shield as an edge and winning things like heads-up 1-on-1 fights. I wouldn't mind a Shield that helped the HA survive but limited their ability to chase down an attacker that then ran away. But the abundance of HA's surviving surprise attacks AND killing their attacker is silly. Also, if the HA shield is to remain in the game, a number of guns need their Mag Size increased (with no offsetting nerf) to account for the current Meta Damage-To-Kill relative to their Mag Damage: their Mag Damage was based on an old Meta Damage-To-Kill that existed a long time ago.

I would like to see non-HA, non-Infiltrator Classes buffed as Infantry. Enough so that they are being used in decent numbers as Infantry on the battlefield. Specifically to be better in engagement types they are currently not being used in. It can be an active buff or a support device buff, but something that motivates players to play them.

This is just a fallacy. I see good/bad organization and play level on all sides. And I don't see tons of variety in tactics on the battlefield. Sure, some players/groups are much more organized than others, but even they revert to the same handful of organized tactics over and over.

VS is not the only Faction to have dominated Populations or Alerts over the course of the game.

Do you see a difference in numbers of HA being played vs. other Classes?

This issue for me is mostly imbalance of Classes being played as Infantry on the battlefield. YOU may not have a problem vs. HA, but I think you can agree that a much higher % of the Infantry players are playing HA.

What does "Force vs Force" even mean?

It's also the AA Class. And it shares the Range AV Class with Engineer.

These roles (front line, bullet sponge, shock troop, AA, Range AV) are all areas of the game that are VERY USEFUL. And that is why people pull HAs a lot. I would like to see OTHER Classes being buffed so that players are pulling them all in high numbers across different Engagement types (type of Terrain, type of base, population of fight, etc.).

What's the point of having all these Classes in the game if it's supposed to be HA vs. HA on the Infantry battlefield and Engineer vs. Enginer in Vehicles?

No, yuck. I don't want a game that is all HA with a handful of classes to fit odd needs.

I don't want a Battlefield dominated by one Class and Continent Populations dominated by one Faction. If that's the game you want, then we are opposed in the direction we want PS2 to go.

PS2 should not be designed to only work when being played "right", it should be designed to support stumbling people who are playing the game as best they can within the general roles of the game.[/quote]

He didn't say he was quitting you ******* inbred.
  17. OldMaster80

You want to take a revenge against HA? Get an Infiltrator with Vandal and kick their butt. If you flank them you kill them so fast they do not even have the time to switch on the shield.
  18. ChUnKiFieR

This is the second post of yours today I've seen where all you do is swear at people and call them names. Are you off your meds again? And the word is inbreed btw.
  19. H4YW1R3

Aww, poor baby. Hims so mad.
  20. AtckAtck

First, i didn't say that i where quitting the game, i just said that it is not the fun it used to be.
And i won't say anything about the obviouss troll posts here. Well i guess thats wat you can expect from forums these days...

Looking at the continents, ist the same every day: The vanu have about 50-70% owned land, every time, on every continent.
Giving that the overall server population is about 1/3 each most of the time, then something is wrong.

Also looking at the global population, having the more "skilled" players is roughly an argument, otherwise the question must come up why thevanu players are "that much more better" than the average player on the other factions.?
Is it because they are all just more skilled?`
I doubt that. And even so, then the question why the "more skilled" choose vanu over the other factions comes up.
It surely isn't because of the stunning spandex look for everyone...

What ever the line of thought you follow, ist always the same answer:
The equipment is straight slightly better.

It is always been said that the vanu guns are all average, and have nothing special.
Maybe that is their exact strenght?
Looking at biology ,beeing average has always been the choosen winning path for nature too.
Maybe they are just too average in everything?
I mean no bulletdrop, fast reload, superb accuraccy, average recoil and so on, just translates to a good gun, where only one of these stats isn't very good by itself.

Look at the tr weapons, some are really good, some are not.
Some are utter garbage, spraying like no tomorrow.
Cant hit the side of a barn with it.
Some of the worst are even auraxium weapons, no wonder nobody uses them.
Excelling in a range about 10 m range isn't a positive thing, you just have to run from A to B at some point, and then you are dead simple as that, just because you simply cannot hit anybody past a given range, but he can.

Its really time to balance things out between the factions.
If this goes on much longer, then the vanu will have the absoulte overpop soon because of frustrated players swiching over.

I tried playing vanu today and i thought:Oh god, this is easy.
My kd was about double to triple the value i use to have on my tr char.
And that one is lvl 100 and has nearly everything he needs.
The game with the vanu was a fresh "has nothing" character...
