    Hi!
I'm having the exact same issue..
Followed the same steps (Antivirus, firewall, reset proxy, flush dns)
    Does anyone have a solution?
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
    Thanks,
    Zem.
  3. iccle

Tried validating the game assets through launchpad?

Click the small spanner icon down near the bottom left of the launchpad, click "Validate Game Assets"
  4. ZemZem

Iccle thank you for your reply!
yes, I have in fact tried validating the game assets..
    to no avail..
I press "validate game assets" and nothing happens..
Also tried several fresh installs - nothing..
The game used to work perfectly for me for the past year.
    What went wrong?

Any help will be appreciated guys..
    Zem.

DutchCraft Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick..
The IP addresses that show up all match the numbers listed in the post..
Also tried flushing the Dns again for good measure - no go..
I'm trying to download the game again through STEAM..
    1 minute 30 seconds remaining (10 G/b worth of waiting - about 2.5 hours..)
I'll let you know in a few minutes if that did the trick..
  7. ZemZem

    Well,
    No..
    it didn't work..
same exact error massage showing up after fresh install from steam:

Unable to download HTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony..../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony..../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony..../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony..../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony..../live/planetside2-live.sha.soeHTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol in response: Date: (64.37.169.11) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony....lanetside2-live/live/planetside2-live.sha.soe

    Any other ideas guys?
Am I doomed never to play again??
  8. DutchCraft

Have you tried starting your computer without any services running?
  9. Melete

I am having the same problem. In fact it just started. Was playing just fine and the game started laggin so I logged out and now I get this error. Tested everything and nothing is wrong on my end.
  10. starlinvf

Could be another DDOS. traces to the patch servers look normal, and their NS servers are responsive.
  11. ReaperDrivers

I am having the same issue, showing all game servers down for me on my update screen but they all show up on the forum?
  12. ZemZem

First of all thank you for your answers!
DutchCraft that seemed like a good idea!
    So:
Tried booting in Safe mode with networking (only the basic win 7 processes and services + inernet connectivy)
and updating the game while there..
    Still - no banana..
Tried registering a new account - idk why I thought it might help.
    AND COULDN'T!!

    which strikes me as odd..
I went to the website, pressed "create account", filled out my info, pressed the "PLAY FREE" button, and NOTHING happened.
    literally nothing.
Huh.. no matter - lets see what our friendly neighborhood Google has to say about it..
    found this:
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/218230/discussions/0/828937546036816741/

    Diffferent guy, similar issue..
in his case the problem resolved itself after a short while..
I'm gonna try and wait for a few minutes and then create a new account and try downloading the update with it.
even though i hardly think that that's the issue..

    ANY other ideas guys?
    My gun is getting rusty..
    thanks,
    Zem.

    OK!
So I think I got it..
I'm using a dual band router..
switched from the 5Ghz band to the 2.4Ghz band
    and BAAM!
No error message just good old fashioned patching..

    Currently installing..
Will let yall know if i can actually play the game..

Thank you everybody who tried to help!

    eitan1, ReaperDriver, Melelete,

Let me know if this helped you guys too!

    Zem.
  14. ZemZem

    Yes!
    I can Play!
    See Yall on Amerish!

    :)

    Zem.
  15. ZemZem

    Huh??
I was actually playing the game for a few minutes,
closed it and tried to open it again,
    SAME ISSUE!!
after the patch was already installed!!
    WHAT'S GOING ON??

    HELP!
    Zem.
  16. ZemZem

    OK OK..
    Calm down..
This time flushing the dns did the trick..
I'm gonna go play for a bit before this happens again..
    Zem.

I think the problem connected to the default gateway or IPv4 Address values. (use "ipconfig" to check)
I just had the exact same problem ("Unable to download HTTP::Exception: Unknown protocol "... )
and i changed my Lan Subnet Mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 and back again.

the router disconnect and connect again to the Lan and the problem was solved J
  18. TheBenedicus

It might be not the same problem, but my Launcher coult not connect because TLS 1.0 Support was off in Internet Explorer.. enabeling this would fix it in my case.. good luck!
