So there you are, after spending five minutes sneaking up on a lightning that has been spawn camping your base, you've managed to plant C4 on it.
    -but then it spots you!
it's turret turns before you can detonate and you're dead
    [sad face]
This happens a lot and I thought to myself, why can't we have a C4 option where when you place it, it has a shorter arming time and will not detonate until you release a button or are killed.
This will make it harder for people to protect themselves from the explosive pooping fairies but also makes it more risky for the fairies as they cannot switch weapons to defend themselves, and they must judge when to detonate so that they aren't within the blast radius.
Minor details could include a light on the arming device that goes from red to green after the 0.7s arming time to show that it can detonate, if you've already released the button then it would detonate straight away, probably killing you in the process.

    martyrdom for C4?

Risk vs Reward. Ya almost did it....but nope....sorry :-(

I don't like this. Hated Marty too. But in this game you could just run through people and throw c4 and use this to blow up whole rooms with reckless behavior with no risk. So naaa no thanks. *downvotes*

C4 is already incredibly powerful. The arming time is there to make it semi fair to the vehicle driver.

Using suicide c4 tactics is already a fairly low risk-high reward task. Staying out of a tanks LOS isn't really all that challenging and you get a guaranteed vehicle kill, ~1000xp if you detonate, and the tank driver loses 450 Nanites.. If you fail, you get a death, a loss of what 75 nanites, and the driver gets ~100xp or so for the infantry kill?

If you die on your way or lose a brick because you were caught mid action, that's on you. You shouldn't be rewarded with a tank kill when the tank did the only thing he can do to defend against c4; kill the fairy.

C4 is already overused for suicide tactics. Making it even easier would take away the last shred of skill required to use C4.

"But then it spots is you" is either your failure to sneak up undetected, or driver's skill in being aware of his surroundings. Every time you try to sneak up on a tank you take a risk. Sometimes it doesn't pay off. That is how C4 is balanced.
