Buff the Acquisition Timer Cert....

To include resource cost reduction. Otherwise the highest levels are mathematically useless for MBTs.

    Thanks.

I think it would balance more if it just did resource cost instead of timer. My 2 cents.

It needs to be a new line of passive certs that cost waaay more. Otherwise we will have tankside again.

No, they want you to buy resource boosts.

wow, I think this is the first time I've ever seen 3 decent comments in a row on this forum.

Just replace the current Acquisition timer reduction with a resource cost reduction cert bar that costs progressively more with each level. That way dedicated tankers/pilots don't get screwed over with a super high cost if their game crashes or if a Sunderer/Harasser/ MBT flips your tank in a traffic accident or crushes it into a rock.

    2. If a player crashes despawn the vehicle so it can no longer be used and refund the resources since General Updates and patches constantly cause random crashing.

    3. Allow a fully healed vehicle to be deconstructed for full resources in order to allow for loadout changes or for warp gate transitions.

    4. Play "Back in Black" by ACDC every time you change loadouts

It would make more sense to remove the resource zones and simply give resources for each object you destroy (infantry/ground/air). You want more resources to spawn another esf? Stop farming infantry and kill some other esfs while you're up there. Same for tanks etc. Run out of resources? Go infantry and kill a few tanks/esfs.

Another option would be to rework how the timers currently work. Instead of being a lock out.

Set the cost of vehicles/maxs quite low but when you pull one it ups the price and pulling another will cost considerably more. As the timer ticks down it gets cheaper until reaching the base price again. You might need to up the timers a bit and/or rework how much time the passive certs shave off.

I like this idea. Just have three teirs or something, price gougeing, 50% more than current if bought before CD is hit, standard price once CD is hit, and runout sale of like 30% off once CD runs down a second time.

While number 2 is a nice idea, it's very hard to code for. The server wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a client side crash and the process being terminated by the user (alt-f4, end process in task mgr, network manually disabled, etc.). Which could lead to another type of exploiting in order to save resources and the acquisition timer when you're about to die. Perhaps if the vehicle is at a certain health threshold and has been out of combat for X number of seconds.

3 is a good idea, I can imagine the frustration of frequent vehicle users who pulled the wrong load out trying to deploy in haste. Perhaps make some vehicle pads that would bring up the load out screen when driving/landing on them (that would include a deconstruct as well).

It really bites when good ideas are foiled by cheaters and exploiters *Shakes my head* I'd say for number 2 just make it 75% and over it will count.

i dont think that's neccassary imo.
  13. Kevorkian

Not gonna happen. They did however state they would be reevaluating costs and adjusting them accordingly. If you're running out of resources, stop dying.

I actually want the resources to stay at this cost, but the current system is half finished. For them to just lower it back down again would be disappointing. I was mad mostly because they put in an unfinished system with no means of balancing the paying & free to play fields.

Also, telling free to play players who are tank specialists that they need to survive in a tank for 35+ minutes before they can pull another one is asking for a bit much since the average life expectancy is less than 10 minutes.

    This made me giggle.
  16. Kevorkian

No its not. Either a free player (or paying for that matter), learn to avoid death or suffer the consequences. Pre-GU11 when someone died, there was no consequence, you just loaded up another vehicle/max. Now that you have to exercise caution and common sense, all the scrubs are complaining. If someone is really that bad as to only have a vehicle/max for 10mins, guess what, resources boosts ARE FOR YOU.
  17. Goodkat

The issue is the acquisition timer being made useless at higher levels. "Stop dying" is a troll response. You may now go away.

    ALSO MATH:

Now that resource prices are so high, the maximum acquisition timer on MBTs (which I happen to have) is all but useless.

    See math:

    MBT = 450 resources.
    Max timer = 5 minutes
    resource tick = 5 minutes
full continent = about 150 resources a tick*

The maximum acquisition timer is only useful if I pull a MBT with full resources AND we have a near or full cont lock. If we almost own the full continent, why even fight there? (remember only need 75% now for bonus).

    750 - 450 = 300 left.
    300 + >150 = >450 so only a full cont lock works.

Owning Esamir makes this situation slightly better, but not by much.

Conclusion: There needs to be a fix applied to the acquisition timer, or I need my 1,000 certs back for the max level.

    Discuss...

*I am not counting the resource boost as they can only be bought with money and this game is not pay-to-win.

Hands up if you have Flash timer 10.

Flash specialists got shafted even more than tank drivers... (4x the original cost)

Yeah flash got hit hard. I don't know how they thought it was going to be alright to NOT change the acquisition timer cert along with vehicle costs. It seems they have a hard time of thinking things through and realizing what all is affected with one change
