Anti-vehicle grenade is worthless

    So I've spent a few days now trying to find any situation where using these over normal grenades would be a benefit. I have found none. They are notoriously hard to throw where you want, and even if they hit enemy armor, they seem to do no damage whatsoever from my experience.

    Has anyone else had any luck with these things?

    They do ok damage to vehicles and can seriously injure a max, but not worth replacing your normal grenades. Standard grenades seem to stomp all the other grenades in usefulness.

    Last time I used them the only real damage I got with them was when 2 injured maxes ran around a corner and I threw a grenade at them, but on the other hand if I had a real grenade I could have taken out a good chunk of enemies that were clumped up near them

    Be nice if they made the AV grenade also sticky, so you could throw it ON a vehicle and be certain it would explode for maximum damage.

    Would let a heavy set up a C4/Rocket/AV nade combo that would be pretty devastating.

    The description makes it sound like they reduce the armor's mitigation. Has anyone tested missile damage before and after hitting a tank with the nade to see if they start taking more damage after the nade hits them?

    I live by them, if you know where a tank is going and cant switch to your Rocket fast enough it's perfect
    I currently Run C4/Anti Vehicle Grenade/ Standard Rocket launcher, and take out tanks like it's my job

    I've found them mostly useless, though have fragged a couple MAXes with them. Only success I've had with them against armor is coming up on a Magrider with its back to me. Tossed a grenade and then shot it in the *** with my Rocket launcher. Killed it and it was at 100%.

    Im surprised no one has run into the usual "That deployed sundy is almost dead but I have no more rockets" issue. It kills infantry just like the normal grenade so why not have it for tht extra damage against armor? It's been great for me.

    They're for a specialized HA. Don't use them if you don't want to or can't. I play as a sabotage HA and sneak around destroying sunderers and armor along with any troops I see.

    I'm certed out in a way and I play in a way that really benefits from the AV grenade. I have a decimator rocket launcher and stage 2 rocket ammo upgrade. I carry 6 powerful decimator shaped charge rockets, a pack of C4, and my AV grenade. These are the only ways I can damage sund, MBT's etc.

    more often than not, I'm always able to sneak up to a tank or sunderer. I throw my C4 pack onto the vehicle and as I get to a good area to engage with my rockets, I throw the AV... simultaneously both the c4 and AV go off, instantly bringing the vehicle whatever it is, to near death.

    I finish with a rocket blast or sometimes, with lightnings, all I need is 1 decimator rocket to the rear to bring it to near zero health, then so I don't have to waste a vital rocket, I'll throw the AV and it will finish the job.

    I think they're there for you to use if you want to really add them to your strategy, not just to always carry around if you don't actively, constantly engage vehicles as your primary objective.

    I think they're really fun to use and I love pissing people off with them.. they think they're safe, or I'm reloading my rocket, they start repairing while it's on fire, i throw one and they know it's over.

    I say get it if you play as a demolition/sabotage specialist. it's worth the 100 if you do.

    Does anyone have the stats on grenades? Are AV grenades a straight upgrade or do they have less damage vs. infantry, or something similar?

    They supposedly have a slightly smaller radius, and cost more.
    I have not yet seen a stat file for them, please link if you find one.

    I agree: they should stick on vehicles. Developers should also introduce a sticky emp grenade such disables temporary vehicles weapons, and invert x and y axes.

    I dont ever really use them after trying them for a week or so. I'd much rather have the regular grenade to throw into a room of enemies which is a much more common occurrence. If I'm engaging enemy tanks close up I'd try and hit them in the rear with the rocket launcher or hit and then reposition immediately to attack again from a new angle while reloading rather than spend more time in the open throwing a grenade that they may drive away from.

    I suppose if you have a grenade bandolier it may be more useful.

    I use them to give me a little more dps against deployed sunderers, I'd be better off using more C-4 though, as c-4 + default launcher to the back is enough to kill any tank.

    meh its ok with the deci against sundy's. But its more or less an anti-max grenade. It brings the max hp down by 80% with flak armor maxed.

    It's does good damage but hitting non-mobile vehicles with it is a pain.
    They should either make it stick to vehicles or explode on contact with vehicles.

    Someone did a video review of these - basically if u don't hit the tank in the rear, they hardly do any damage. They won't kill infantry and they take a MAX down to half damage.
