Don't know if anyone else has this problem with the game. Planetside 2 now forces itself on top of corresponding commands. This is a huge problem especially if Planetside 2 freezes up or becomes unresponsive and you need to shut it down using the Task Manager. As far as the Steam overlay goes when going back into the game none of the gui is responsive when pushing ESC to exit game it's unresponsive end up having to force shut down my computer because planetside 2 will not allow me to see my desktop to end the program through the Task Manager. This was not always so.
Try CTRL + ESC, it is oldschool and rarely used or known. Also: I do not use steam, and this is not an issue for me, I can minimize the game upon request at any time, without ever once having issue. I would suggest if you are willing to try, possibly going without the steam version
Thank you for the feedback guys. I validated the game files through the Planetside 2 launch pad and it fixed my problems.
