Somebody mentioned this deep in a different thread, and I thought it was a great idea. There should be a hotkey setting so that you can set a personal waypoint where the crosshairs are located, so you don't need to open up the map to do it. I use my waypoint all the time when I fly to avoid becoming lost, but it's a pain to bring up the full map every time. I imagine it'd be a pretty simple fix.
