Personally I would lower it's Velocity by 50-100 and remove the straight pull feature .. Having it with the straight pull kinda negates the older BASR as viable options .. Why would you use the Longshot ?
Yep. With the Longshot/RAMS/Parallax we've already hit Peak Sniper Rifle. From here it's just specialization. NC get a sweet *** railgun that will SERIOUSLY appeal to players (like myself!) who joined the NC because damnit, I want guns that hit really hard with lightning fast rounds. I don't like high ROF weapons, and I consider a magazine on a long range specialist BASR to be totally superfluous. Give me one with a long rechamber after each shot, that hits like a truck, but ultimately isn't any better at anything than the existing tier 3 guns. I'd honestly be surprised if the Railjack ends up getting a straight pull bolt as an option when it hits live. It's pointless and doesn't make much sense on a gun like that. The straight pull bolt is going to make the low zoom BASRs ridiculously OP though and I cannot wait.
Well .. TR got the Striker v1... VS got ZOE v1... the NC got Railjack v1.... and the tale goes on and on and on...
Well from what I have heard (unsure as too how true) it was the Reddit forum-rages that resulted in the shotgun part being removed that then resulted in this version
Here is what will probably happen: 1.) Massive QQ 2.) Massive nerf 3.) We will have an ESSR that will offer nothing unique while being almost identical to the Longshot 4.) TR and VS will keep their unique weapons Hopefully not, but we saw how the Striker went.
I can tell you don't snipe. A BASR with ZERO bullet drop and SUPER high velocity with REALLY high damage is OP as ****. Not even VANU have a no bullet drop BASR. If we did the rail jack wouldn't be a big deal. Here is my proposal. Give all vanu BASR's a no bullet drop perk and yall can keep your easy mode point and click weapon.
This would be the worst buy ever! You already have the usual cry babies posting threads before the rifles are released. Imagine the standard sheep\forumsiders nerf threads that will follow an unadjusted release. Truth is even if the long shot had been the NC ESSR there would have been the same threads
You are either a bad player or overrating the effects of bullet drop. Even with the current bolt actions 100% headshot accuracy on non moving targets is easy at 250m. The thing that makes the suggested NC ESSR on test different is the velocity. However it does have some disadvantages to the Longshot! Is it an easier shot v shot sniper rifle to the long shot, yes! Is it better than a long shot, no! You have to be a very rubbish sniper to take the negatives of this new NC rifle over a longshot. Edit: or maybe you like the looks!
Are you ********? Do you even snipe at all? The ONLY disadvantage the NC's ESSR has is it's magzine (Which won't matter because an average player will never miss with this weapon). If you think this sniper is weak then pre-nerf ZOE must be trash than.
please list any real negatives to a weapon designed for burst damage long range fire? its not like you are going to be taking this thing into CQC its going to be a sniper. I'm going to wait till it hits live to make any real judgment, but it just seems like an easy mode sniper. the faster velocity means less lead time which mean easier shots on moving targets. almost no drop makes that even easier IMO. the long shot is just a carbon copy of every other factions rifle of the same tier.
Sorry, I am not interested in nerf this, buff that follow the leader forumside reasoning and tone. An average player never misses with the current bolt action due to bullet drop. Stop and look at what you write, it is exaggeration and speculation. Get a job at the Sun.
Don't worry, QQ hard enough and it will go the way of the Phoenix. Me? I find BASRs rarther boring, currently I'm eyeing the NSR. If it stays available to all classes, I'm buying it for my LA as soon as it comes out.
Please explain to me why NC deserve to get a no bullet drop BASR before the Vanu who SOE says has that as there factions traits?
It is an easy mode sniper! Is it better? Not IMO. It was always going to be hard work to make ESSR' s unique, useful and interesting. IMO they should just not release them, same as max flame throwers.
oh cmon this is just a snipe with +200v pros be pros with or without it. Once you get used to X velocity leading targets isn't a problem at all, the gain is mostly nice for suppressor use. On the other hand ZOE was just op as **** max suit + speed = no. Somehow you can't have it all vanu vanu I too would like some orion spin-off on my other characters with ****all recoil, 0.75 ads and no drop suppressed
