Getting rid of those pesky overpowered AA max's on planetmax 2

    I have logged about 188 hours in my mossy and I still find Dual-Burster Maxes a pain in the *** to take out. I'm no ace or anything near that level, but my experience is that using a combination of rocket pods and rotary are very effective against them. The explosion from my missiles occasionally throw the aim off of the Max which gives me those precious few moments to swap over to my main rotary to finish them.

    Or I do quick strafing runs from different angles to try and throw the max off. Often times I approach low and hug the terrain since the max tends to be looking up. If I see engineers repping, then they become my primary target, since I'll most likely take the engies out first before the max.

    What it feels like going up against entrenched AA as a lone ESF....

    The easiest way to take care of AA maxes in an ESF is to not directly engage an AA max with an ESF. It's a direct counter to your vehicle.

    If there are 2-3 maxes working together the chances of you winning are going to be little to none. If they are even smarter and are setting up a dedicated flak trap with skyguards, AA maxes, and AA missiles, you don't stand a chance from the air.

    This is also the same reason I don't rush into a heavily defended base with my vanguard and wonder why I died in .2 seconds. Don't attack your counter head on.

    What does the scatmax (who can still instagib) have to do with ait/anti air relations?

    Anyway just take away rocket pods, ESFs flyers with an ounce of skill can use the nose gun and the Lib finally has an excuse to exist. Once you've done than nerf bursters to be less effective than the skyguard.

    Though I never want to return to the days of old where air countered air and libs destroyed whole armies. The twin AA max does seem a TAD overpowered in this regard, though I think it is it's accuracy rather than full damage.

    Nah don't remove. But nerf so that they just don't have enough to destroy a MBT. Give tanks an active defensive laser against missiles for a 3rd crew member. Make ESF less able to hover, make them more jetty.

    You're expecting SOE to add all of that without breaking the game?

    Removing them is the more realistic option. The only thing that will break is SOE accidentally giving people too many certs.

    Thank goodness maxes are water resistant or the falling pilot tears would be OP.

    please leave and go play cod, no aircraft to ruin your fun there you can have inf side there just on a smaller scale.
    and for the record, I am a jack of all trades. infantry tanks and aircraft and do well in all of them do better as an infantry more certs, kill more people, and do more to help on the ground doesn't mean aircraft should not kill tanks and ground troops its a ******* fighter jet people. this is for both sides aircraft feel pretty good right now if any side is ******** they just suck lol i can kill anti air maxes at the same time i can kill aircraft as a anti air max. 2 things they could do nerf aa maxes a bit so their aim isn't god like and make the sky guard what it should be the best aa in the ******* game.
    also remove shotguns cause lawl one shot bs is ******* dumb.

    Because having unlocks that make other air vehicles redundant sounds like pretty poor design.

    while i agree that the lib seems to have no home thats cause they ****** up its design and the render issues where if you can't see the target your projectile just doesn't exist to them. which is silly in my world of perfection libs would be bombers with smart or dumb fire "BOMBS" you know what a bomber drops not a tank cannon super glued to the bottom of what i think is a chassis of a Russian attack helicopter. so yes i feel bad for the libs but lets fix them not break other things so libs look better.
    P.S when i say smart bombs i don't mean tv guided lawl bombs i mean someone on the ground using a lazer to guide them in so some team work is required.

    AA MAXes are fine. Stop trying to solo them/a group. Get tanks. Get infantry. Communicate with your empire. Join a coordinated Outfit. The game will always be playable for soloside but will never be balanced in favor of it. This game is about teamwork and group dynamics. Also if you're being camped in a no fly zone by an outfit, you need to deal with it methodically. I know when we do it, the first thing that needs to be done is to stop pulling aircraft and vehicles from the point we're camping. Flank, bring tanks, beacons, do whatever it takes to kill our bus. If we're running on beacons and medics alone, kill them first. Too often ppl just complain about getting killed by one thing without using strategy to eliminate it. Also using ESFs to kill their hard counter just because you're a super air specialist is foolish. You can't always have your favorite class/vehicle if the situation is stacked against it. And if you insist on doing so it's not so much the problem that the counter is OP XD

    Well - +1000 burster kill is still ahead. Since this killed about 300 planes and assisted a lot more.

    And yes - max should always shoot from cover. MAX is very first target the flyboys like to kill very first. Skyguards are next target.

    Maxes should always work as team. Engies also likes makses more then.

    sorry i just learning to fly and i never die to bursters unless i fly around a turret chasing after someone and only after like 10sec :)

    If you would take the time to run an ESF with Rocket Pods, you would understand how severely they've been nerfed.
    As it is now, when an ESF is hovering and podding me as a heavy, I just put up my shield, look in it's general direction, press q, and fire away with the dumbfire. I love it when ESFs hover to pod me. I intentionally travel to nearly capped bases just to take out hovering ESFs. I've even C4ed one at a tower before. Drifter Jets FTW.

    Hovering ESFs are FREE XP.

    have lolpods never use them cos it feels cheap and op and not very fun for the tank be blown up in <2sec with no chance*** to get away, rotary more fun for both.

    The easiest way to destroy AA is to roll tanks over them, I know this because it has happened many times.
    If you are in an ESF you are not going to stop organized AA, you may kill a lone AA max if you are lucky.

    The game is 'combined arms' and no one playstyle counters everything else in the game (anymore) you can't beat AA.
