I cannot zone into a guild hall without getting the following critical error, "Application ran out of memory when requesting # bytes (limit: 767 MB, current: 767 MB)." This started the week of the Hotfix. Prior to, I had no problem running EQ2 at High Quality. The error ALWAYS happens when Loading entity resources. Also, starting the game will SOMETIMES produce this error, while zoning back the guildhall from another zone ALWAYS produces this error. As of Sunday, May 30, 2010 ~ 11:00PM CST I cannot load the game since Lunaris is parked in the guild hall. Starting in Character Select and loading an alt works fine, so long as the alt is NOT in a guild hall. I realize my system is not ideal for the beautiful graphics EQ2 is capable of, but the fact the game ran fine and runs fine out of a guild hall is most annoying. Please, help me resolve this issue I have googled my brains out and need a fix. This thread seemed most appropriate to post a plea for help.

Change your settings to Best Performance or equivilent, you don't have a good enough machine to run any higher then that. the 9800 comes with 64 mb of ram, the 9800 Pro comes with 128 mb of ram, neither of which can run 400 mb of ram which is how much textures/ram it would need to run at that high a resolution...And the game requires around 1.5 gb of free ram to run that high, which you definately don't have...1gb of computer memory = fail for anythign higher then performance.

Simply put you're running an 8 year old machine with software that has been updated to use up to 2gb of computer ram and just over 550 mb of video ram.

To be able to run at higher settings you need to upgrade your ram and graphics card...However since you have a 9800, which only comes in agp, to upgrade your video card, 99% of video cards are pci-e (not pci or agp), which would require you to get a completely new computer...unless you could find something like this...
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Tech-_-14102851
I'm not recommending this card, but it is* agp and 1gb of onboard ram. Even with all that ram, you would also need computer ram to be able to run eq2 at those settings...Which would require 4gb to run semi-smoothly...It'd only show 3gb or less in a 32 bit windows environment, and 1gb min would be eaten up because of the way gpu ram gets mapped plus any other hardware would eat in to your computer ram as well. Win XP runs in about 300-512 mb smoothly, not including antivirus and other software which may be running in the background...So...If you got that gpu and increased your ram to 4gb, and ran it at the settings you've been running it at...You would completely max out all of your ram (all 4gb), and a little over half of your video ram simply by walking in to your guild hall.

With all of that said, you can decrease the amount of ram usage and video ram usage by decreasing your resolution...Which you can do from settings at the log in screen, which may get you logged in ok. If all else fails, change the resolution to the smallest one you can manage, then log in with another character and change your video settings in game to the lowest you can get, then do a /camp to what ever character you're having trouble loggin in with and attempt to get out of the gh again.

has something specifically happened since gu57 with WF? i am now crashing in WF almost every single time. i know have to stand in the revive spot or stay away from all the action to not crash. wasn't the case BEFORE gu57

This is happening to me now as well. This ONLY happens in the T3 Antonica Guild Hall. Oddly enough, it only happens inside the main hall inside. I don't have any issues at all unless I am in that large room in the middle.

*edit* I tried the fix that was on a previous post and it didn't work even though I have 4g+ memory.

Any Dev want to give us an update on this issue?
It always happens to me after gu 57 when i have played for like 3 or 4 hours no matter what zone, and can happen if i just move thrue a zone or if i zone, either raid or group or solo. And many of the times it seems like it asks for less then is avalible, but still crashes, taken from the crash messages.

I had this same issue some time ago, managed to fix it, and then GU58 comes along and *bam* . . . memory bleeding out all over the place. Can't play more than 15 minutes before the bloat crashes EQ2. Apparently there's something in this GU they "fixed" that just un-fixes what worked previously.

If I were a bettin man I would say it's a texture doin it. I have this issue only going inside my home in Qeynos. I was able to play fine the last year till this GU, now it crashes constantly.

I've never had this kind of problem with EQ2 before and I just resubscribed and I can't even get into the game because I keep getting that error as my character is in the Guild Hall.

This has been only happening to me since the last update that actually says they did a fix for client crashes. So only about a week or so. It consistently happens when I zone to guild hall or out of it. The length of time I have been playing when it crashes, is random.
