Ok, Test crashes for me within a minute or two of logging in, with this message: <verify> G:\test\eq2\framework\core\devices\directx11\DirectX11RenderDeviceData.cpp (1813)DirectX Error. (error) I am running Windows 10 and have Direct X 12.
To be very clear, that G: above is NOT a typo, and I did NOT misread it. I just logged in again to verify it, actually. That is G: (as in God), not C: (as in Christ). As far as I know my computer does not have a G: (as in God) drive, and I have Test server installed on the E: drive of my computer. So I am wondering if the error is caused by it looking for something on a drive that does not exist.
This is the error i got on launch. It worked fine on the 3rd try. Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> G:\<GAME PATH>framework\core\devices\directx11\DirectX11RenderDeviceData,cpp (1007): DirectX Error. (error) Running Windows 11, Nvidia 4090RTX, Intel I9 14900k, 64GB DDR5 RAM. Edit: Tried to upload a screenshot but it stripped out of the post so just typed out the error.
Same here for me after trying to zone in Frostfang Sea : Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> G:\<GAME PATH>framework\core\devices\directx11\DXVertexShader.cpp(174): DirectX Error. (error) On Windows 10 with directx12
Windows10 Home, DX12 here logged in scared after reading all this but so far no problems, running some chronoportals to test more So far so good
got the missing dll error: VCOMP140.DLL was not found. Edited to add: Does not launch the game at all.
after playing now for over an hour without problem I zoned into Portal to the past: plains of karana and all I saw was blackness around me with a bit of night sky above. Zone back out to Chronoweave and everything is normal, zoned again into plains of karana portal and all graphics are back to normal. So just some glitch earlier, no idea if related to DX11

Game just closed on me after clicking on Tazstra K'Rzheett in Chronoweave who had a quest turn in for me. Patcher let me restart and log in right away, and Tazstra no longer has a book above, so maybe my quest turn in went through. I can interract with him normally.
I got the following error: https://imgur.com/a/rwRAn05 Can't get back onto the server after walking around for a few minutes then encountering this error. Now when I try to log back in I immediately get the error. System Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x 12-Core 192gb DDR5 AMD Radeon RX7900 XTX Windows 10 Pro DX12 Tried creating a new character, immediately encountered the error when I tried to enter the world.
Copy and paste from here. Update: Just read the dev post above where he mentions that they're adding the missing dlls to the launchpad. Will retry again in a couple of minutes and report back. Update 2: Still crashing with the same error as above. I might try to manually install DX11 into the Proton prefix tonight and see how that goes.
I'm getting: EverQuest2.exe The procedure entry point __CxxFrameHandler4 could not be located in the dynamic link library D:\Games\EverQuest II\TestServer\d3d9.dll Running Windows 10, DirectX 12
Same here. with a RTX 4090 GPU on Windows 10 with latest drivers and updates This happens on launchpad clicking Play or Configuration from advanced tools Running DXDIAG I see that the 12_2 feature is missing and I have no idea if this is the cause, or even how to install it. I've searched the web and tried all the windows/GPU driver updates
Yup, having the same issue when trying to log into Test. Dunno if full download/file scan helps... __CxxFrameHandler4 not found (d3d9.dll)
looks a little bit too dark - enviroment rendering is missing Feel like in umbral halls without any light. All enviroment graphic is replaced with black.. maybe a tranparency rendering problems Sorry picture does not work (whyever)
Seeing (or not seeing ) the same issue as above. Game loads, UI responds, can move and interact with NPCs in game but all graphics on screen are black. Swapping back to live server, everything displays correctly.
