Would you rather charm or not charm and have a yourself for a pet I believe both are wanted in groups and both are similar. To help you a bit from a live server view 3 years ago, which is a bit different from TLE but helps you get the gist of it: Coercer: More AOE CC, Melee buffs, Superior Aggro control, single target dps, healer buffs, Better mana regen (group wide Manaflow), Charmed pet Illusionist: More single target CC, Caster buffs, Aggro control, AOE dps, mana regen, self cloned caster pet.
