I'm not going to buy the expac to check, but do these random pony harvests decrease the harvests available on said nodes? In other words, does the pony take a harvest count from a three-harvest node, leaving a two-harvest node?
Bah, real players TANK their mobs! What I always did in EQ back in the day (before mercenaries). Only took me about 5 minutes to recover before I was ready for my next victim *grins*
The reward for harvesting quests are harvest, with a chance at rares. I received an Essence of Magic as part of the rewards. That's not bad at all. The Daily Mission rewarded a tradeskill advance book, I was excited to see that. (that's not sarcasm, truly excited to see these being somewhat accessible)
Except you're harvesting.. and getting rares... while harvesting to get a reward.. of harvests.. And right now about 1/4 of the harvest reward for EVERY harvest quest is more roots....
So, on analysis, the new pony function over a 2 hour timeframe will make a maximum of 80 harvest attempts, provided that your constantly moving to expose new nodes to the pony. You get an average of 440 harvests, or a max of 800 harvests, from the pony for this two hour period. I'm pretty sure the 440 resource count is easily reachable by the old pony method in a 2 hour session. So now, you can get roughly the same amount of resources from the new method as the old, with the additional overhead of having to be logged in and running around to make it happen. And, only one pony on the account can be active at a time to use the new method. I don't know about other folks, but for my account that cuts my potential pony resource gathering by a factor of 10 (or would, if I ever logged in again). Or from the mirror viewpoint, my required harvesting time to support my crafters is increased 10-fold, since each crafter has to now individually harvest to get any benefit from their pony. And for this new function, we are supposed to be, according to another poster, "grateful". That's like being grateful to the commissar that sentenced you to Siberia for making sure you had a pair of showshoes when you are put on the train. I'm really beginning to believe that some players are suffering from some modified version of Stockholm syndrome.
The harvesting missions won't be for everyone. They are just harvesting. Some people will see it as a way to help level their guild and will probably/maybe do them daily. I mentioned Essence of Magic because that was a nice surprise and unless you get lucky/are persistent in looking every day for them, not everyone can find one out in the wild. Even the part about helping the guild is iffy since I'd guess the status amount will be different depending on level of character doing them. Again, won't be for everyone.
Really????????? I am as steamed as those bots blowing steam in this instance. I got to the step where I have to turn the wheels in the Plane of Innovation TS and they wouldn't turn. I reset and am back at that same step and guess what? They wont turn. I made 20, I repeat 20 IMD when I started and if I have to keep resetting I will have none for the last step where I need 5 wth????? This isn't cheap fuel is expensive nvm I'm using my mats that I need for other toons as well as crafting. Since my pack pony wont bring me any as usual the only mats I have are the ones my 23 hours plant gives me and the few I have collected while adventuring. Why wasn't this fixed during downtime today???????? Jeez this is like opening a box of crackerjacks and being so freaking disappointed at the prize. I'll not start over this is fixed I'm fed up!
Best post I have seem Earar. The end of the timeline (getting it done and not having to deal with that garbage any more) is the best part of it.
I think overall that is what they are missing. We want things we want to go and 'do', not just something to do to get a 'prize'. The journey should be the sundae, the prize the cherry.
I can't edit anymore, so adding: you apparently have to do the TS questline first before the guild harvesters will offer you guild status quests. Bummer.
Everybody knows the answers now, why do we still care.Just stop trying to change something and/or complain about stuff on the forum.Nobody will react in a way different than to delete a thread or to ban someone.
First they banned the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they banned the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they banned the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they banned me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
That is actually my big worry. This entire xpac is a disaster in my opinion. Any other business or product I would be demanding my money back, but of course you can't do that here so people just leave, then soon no money left for development at all. I really hope they find a way to turn it around. A couple of suggestions for them... a broad survey reaching all types of playstyles (raider, crafters, casual, hard core... etc.). The other would be forming a focus group or two or three. One comprised of actual players of differing styles. Most importantly then listen to the feedback, not just what is said in it but try to understand the motives behind the feedback.
I was so excited for this but OMG, I have died more this week than in all the time I have played combined. It is no fun trying to do trade skill questing and harvesting when everything everywhere just one-shots you. Grrrrrr
OK third toon stuck at the gears in Innovation. I am not going to delete this quest and start over that is ridiculous! Might I suggest the step be changed and after I collect all the information on the bots I just tell meldrith I have done so and then progress to the next step the gears are BROKE!!!! nothing more needs to be said.
