dark glass cubes and building blocks. make them able to get really small or really long. and rails that don't get fatter as they get bigger. we need really thin rails please.
What myself and my son really would love to see (but neither one of us can make it) is a stand or a bunch of hooks you can put on the wall and hang the cloaks on. in the game we get so many nice looking cloaks but have no place to display them. if someone comes up with a way to do it please let me know!
so far, the only way is to get a mannequin and hide it in a fake wall with only the cloak showing. you can use something like a handle at an angle to create the look of a hook.
Just trying to think of the various display options we have (which aren't many, come to think)...I don't think there's any, currently, that would enable items to be placed in a depot-like container but still show. Or even something like one of the Wantia closets and still show, without workarounds like the mannequins. I've heard that EQ1 has all sorts of neat display options; why can't we do that here, if it's the same game engine, basically? Was it always part of the game there, or was that something that they came up with there over time (and if they can, surely we can too!)? Uwk
eq1 has a lot of display options - like bailing hooks- however those are weapons that can be placed. you can't place cloaks or armor of any kind in eq1 and there are no working mannequins the way there are in eq2. for visible armor, there simply are no display options there.
kk i found something that would work for a cloak hook, but you have to figure out how to make the mannequin who is wearing the cloak look like it is hanging. since the cloaks don't drape that way, i don't see how it would work. you would also need to cover the heads with the cloak. Baneful skull on a string
Not to mention, cover the rest of the mannequin (like, the mannequin's head) with something...unless there's a matching hood, which wouldn't be too bad, I guess, but how many cloaks out there are like that? :-/ Uwk who knows of a few other hooks (which would also need their other bits covered somehow), but yeah, the mannequin's "shoulders" are still an issue...
I wish we had a closet/wardrobe with working doors so we could put things in and shut the doors. Folded cloth, the quested boot set house items, etc, would be cute inside it. I also would like our Matoppie curtains to come in more colors than the current grey/black. A caramel shade, a pretty blue, some green or cream shades would all make pretty additions to our moving swish style curtain choices!
Or even better: have there be a variety of fabric types (preferably Recipe-made, preferably one sort of set per tier, 1-10) to go with the moving curtains and the half-round curtain rod ones, in colors to compliment those. They wouldn't have to move, or be locked into one shape (which only works in some situations :-/), or sing or dance or do anything fancy, just look nice and flat, like regular curtains. ;-> Uwk who sees a lot of frustrated folks using fancy Beds to make up for curtain item lacks... :-/
hiding the head shouldn't be a problem, you just slant the mannequin. it is making the cloak look like it is hanging on a hook that is the problem. guess you could use two hooks to make it look like it is spread out. as it is now, you can only use them like tapestries.
Hmmm... I'm gettin old.. I was reading through to make sure I hadn't mentioned my wish and kept going to like things I'd already hit like on. o.0 Ahem, any way, the thing I'd love to see in housing is portals like the prestige homes have, but to Dungeon Maker. Right now you can't enter a Dungeon maker instance from inside a house or hall. For example, I was thinking of making a carnival with the Dungeon portal to a mini game I'd create in the booth. Or a video arcade with the actual arcade games containing the portals to DMs in them with mini games I'd make in the DMs. (I actually went ahead and made Duck Shoot. XD) Even for people who have a travel hub or house displaying finished houses entrances, this would be a pretty nice thing to have. There are all kinds of fun things you can do with the DMs, but since people prefer efficient and fast PL dms, the creative ones get left in the dust by all but those who are dedicated to finding nicely crafted DMs. Putting the portals to DMs in houses would greatly boost the traffic for them. ^_^ People looking for nicely decorated houses don't always want to dig through all the DMs with little to no artistry put into them. If they find a beautiful home, and it has portals to DMs, they might be more likely to give the DM a try too.
Brilliant! I can see the carnival idea: make a really scary "Tunnel of Love" where you start by getting out of a broken-down boat and walking alongside the "river," hoping for a way out... ;-> Uwk
Two things: Walk through tiles The ability to select a particular item in a player's house that may be picked up, (such as a sword, for instance), to aid in player made quests [IE: 'Travel to a Tower in the Storm-Tossed Sea, and retrieve The Fiery Avenger, the sword of Aradune'.]
Not sure about that last (though it would be cool!), but I love the idea of walk-through tiles, especially for Water effects! Uwk
tiles that look like lattice and also those that look like the fiberglass panels. and in all the different colors please.
Does anyone working for SOE read this thread? Some awesome idea's in it..they should really pay attention here. The thing I would like is an oval shaped and/or round shaped 'glass' wall of water. It could either go completely all the way around or just be half so that you can put two halves together in the center of a room, or just put it against a backdrop or solid wall, to make aquariums. We already have watery tile squares that can be used to make square or triangular aquariums as well as the Tapestry of Steamlord, but I had to manipulate Tapestry of the Steam Lord to make an oval aquarium, and it just isn't quite the same (though it still looks cool). We also already have the rainbow bridge, which is a semi-transparent rounded shaped object, so the ability to do something like this is already in place. I don't think it would take much for them to create a half-round or half-oval 'wall' of running water. Heck, even solid color half-oval and half-round walls would be awesome, in all the different building block textures. It would make decorating just that much more creative. If they could be resized to the same height of the tall room dividers both at min and max, ,they would work out very nicely for creating some beautiful and unusual houses in our prestige home lots. Another thing that would be cool is a foaming, bubbling water mound (transparent, animated, with the animation of foam moving around as it would in a raging river), similar to the snow mounds, that could be placed on top of a ledge, to make it look like the top of a waterfall. Place a watery tile on it's side, then put one of these at the top of the tile, and you have a ready-made waterfall to place in your prestige home. You could even put more of these mounds at the bottom of the waterfall, to emulate the churning waters at the base of a waterfall. There could be a few 'boulder's inside the mound too, to make it look like the water is churning over the boulders.
