Zoning from argath to valley

    Everytime I zone from argath to valley I crash. Happens EVERY time. Different computers and different toons. Everytime I have to wait 6 hrs to hit return to starting city. Was told 2 years ago this would be an issue that would be fixed.

    Return home is only 18 minutes now; but not sure why you are crashing. Hope you get it figured out.

    I'm not sure I can be that helpful, but I'll try. After you crash, can you not just log back into your character without hitting Return Home? If you can't get into Valley no matter what you try, it sounds like your ISP may have blocked the port that the zone is hosted on. After DBG patches EverQuest, the ports that each zone is hosted on changes. So you might now be able to zone into Valley, but there may be another group of zones your ISP is now blocking. This happened to me when TSS or SoF was current. If the problem is your ISP, I'm not sure what can be done...perhaps talking to your ISP.

    Since you said the same thing happens on multiple computers, I suspect even more that this is an issue with your ISP. You could also try deleting your Valley zone files and re-patching if you are still having the problme. You can also try verifying game assests.

    If I log back in right away, I get the message that another charter is in world, I then load normally. Then crash when I am expected to go live in game.

    Happens on Comcast when I lived in flordia and Time Warner when I lived in wisconsin. If there is some sort of log file I can post I would gladly do it.

    1. Go to the Logs folder and open dbg.txt in Notepad.
    2. Press Ctrl-F and enter "msg_zone_address" in the search box.
    3. Press Enter to search repeatedly until it cannot find any more instances of that text, i.e. you have found the last one.
    4. Copy/paste the next 10 lines or so here.

    Example: this is me zoning into PoHealth on Povar:

    See what your's says, it is says closed connection or doesnt have the 2 or 3 ZONE CONNECTs, then that is what is getting blocked.
